20.01.2022 This is one easy way to catch a Barramundi sitting on a Crocodiles back. Of course these little guys are way to chilled they obviously think its a floating log. Sometimes seeing those floating logs on the Fitzroy river really spook me.

19.01.2022 Another watercolour from the "Balmy army" series "Off the hook". Catching a monster Barramundi up the Fitzroy river isnt an easy task. Just as you think youve bagged it the fish explodes out of the water spitting the hook in the opposite direction and the fight is won by this elusive creature. Under covid restrictions fishing up the river is out of bounds for the Broome mob at the moment . Apart from salt water crocs who inhabit these waters the river has a population of the critically endangered Saw-fish.

15.01.2022 Ive just completed a series of 12 illustrations. There fun and funky all about frogs. The wet season in Broome brings these gorgeous creatures to life. I named the series "The Balmy Army" if youve been following my work youll know I like to play with words. The title compliments the image. With this picture I just cant decide. Maybe a few suggestions would help? Anyway this was my process from the scribble to the final piece.

I deliberated on the title of this one I kept thinking trapped but I think thats more a reflection on how I am feeling " Harms Way" seemed more fitting. 07.01.2022 This illustration "Sun pictures" is a tribute to the iconic Broome outdoor picture garden. The oldest open air cinema in the world. Sun pictures has been in operation for over 100 years. Its situated in the centre of town under the flight path close to the runway at Broomes airport. Movies are often interrupted by aeroplane engines roaring and flashing lights directly above. Whilst sitting on the joining deck chairs looking up at the underneath of the plane the audience often applauds the mighty roar.

05.01.2022 This is "Lunch at the Mangrove" my Shinju Art award entry for 2020 Artwork description; The mangrove hotel holds many memories for me, I first arrived in Broome in 1996 and worked as the chef there. In my opinion the view from the Mangrove is the best in town. My painting is a reflection looking back at my own personal journey and what Broome life means to me. Spending the day with my family surrounded by nature in Dampier Creek is my happy place.

02.01.2022 After a hectic couple of months , I am finally back in the studio. All the distractions I have managed to immerse myself in have finally dissipated. I attempt to pick up where I left off, in the silence I can no longer ignore the palpable ache in my heart. The endeavour at conveying my visual ideas are usually influenced by the wonderful elements in nature. This is juxtaposition to the emotions I am experiencing. The emotional response to my great loss is now apparent, the tears will eventually stop flowing, the whole in my heart will heal but the scar that remains will be a pleasing reminder of my beautiful mum.
