25.01.2022 Congratulations to Emma Freeman, winner of the 2020 Australian Directors Guild award for Best Direction of a TV or SVOD mini-series, sponsored by Docklands Studios Melbourne. Emma won for her work on ABC TV series Stateless (ep. 3: The Right Thing) working with the likes of Cate Blanchett, Yvonne Strahovski, Asher Keddie and Jai Courtney.

25.01.2022 A big welcome to our newest team member Max Haymes. As Facilities Manager, Max will be in charge of day to day operations at Docklands Studios. Max knows his way around the lot, having worked in set construction on many productions here over the years - including Preacher, The Whistleblower, The Leftovers and Childhood's End. Max takes over from Rodney Brooks who is leaving us after 8 years of great service to our clients.

24.01.2022 Our stages have never seen glitz or glamour quite like this - Australian celebrities strutting their stuff under the mirror ball in the 2020 season of Dancing With The Stars, premiering Feb 9 on Channel 10. Limbering up to hit the dance floor are actors Claudia Karvan and Celia Pacquola, along with sport and entertainment names including Dami Im, Ed Kavalee, Angie Kent and Travis Cloke. DWTS on 10 is produced by Warner Bros International's Australian arm and BBC Studios, and we welcome them to Docklands Studios for their first outing in Melbourne.

24.01.2022 The filmmakers behind the ABC TV documentary The Show Must Go On are offering free mental health support webinars to screen practitioners. Funded through Screen Australia, the sessions target four niche sectors of the industry, at a time when COVID-19 has raised awareness of the impact of isolation, uncertainty and financial stress. Bookings through Event Brite: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/screen-well-webinar-series-

23.01.2022 Well, everyone else is putting out a list of shows to binge watch, so here is ours... https://www.dsmelbourne.com/ten-made-in-melbourne-movies-a/

19.01.2022 Docklands Studios is proud to have served as production base for this slow-burn horror from Japanese-Australian director Natalie Erika James, now on Stan after its Sundance premiere. Filming took place on location around Victoria in 2018-19 #FVsupported

15.01.2022 Good news for the screen industry! One of the world's top broadcast service providers is coming to Docklands Studios. Gravity Media has signed a long-term licensing agreement to take over Stage 5, our dedicated TV studio that's housed many small screen productions over the years, including Millionaire Hot Seat, The Footy Show and Q&A. Gravity Media says the 750sqm sound stage will remain 'open and available' for anyone needing a large and technically advanced site for production and content requirements. Gravity’s presence will enhance Stage 5’s capabilities, with purpose-built control rooms and other state-of-the-art technology designed to appeal to local and international content creators. https://www.gravitymedia.com//gravity-media-takes-over-st/

14.01.2022 3 days. 50 sessions. Over 130 speakers. #SCREENFOREVER 2019 kicks off next week. We are proud to be a supporting partner of Australia's not-to-be-missed screen industry pow wow. View the program and purchase your Gold Pass at www.screenforever.org.au

13.01.2022 Filmmaker Mirrah Foulkes guides us through the making of her debut feature, explaining how she wanted to shoot in Europe, but ended up finding the 'otherworldly' look she was after, right here in Victoria. Judy and Punch was filmed around Melbourne, including Montsalvat and the Dandenong Ranges, with some scenes shot at Docklands Studios. In cinemas November 21.

12.01.2022 From the vault: Five years ago the hit ABC mini-series Jack Irish graced our sound stages. Starring Guy Pearce in the title role as a criminal lawyer turned private investigator, shooting took place in stage 3 over 3 months, as well as on location around Melbourne’s gritty inner suburb of Fitzroy.

11.01.2022 Flashback 10 years: In July 2010 Melbourne hosted the Jason Statham/Clive Owen/Robert De Niro action-thriller, The Killer Elite. With a little trickery, our sound stages were transformed into the wintry Brecon Beacons in Wales, and various other locations, while Melbourne's CBD doubled as 1970s Paris. Fun fact: TKE gave Yvonne Strahovski - later of The Handmaid's Tale - one of her first major film roles. .

05.01.2022 Top 3 things to do at #Screenforever 2019: 1. Absorb the wisdom from the huge range of speakers. 2. Network, network, network. 3. Grab a free caffeine hit from the Docklands Studios cafe, Level 2 of the Crown Conference Centre (Use that free coffee pass inside your delegate lanyard).

04.01.2022 Celia looking more and more like a winner, but with only six stars remaining, things are only going to get tougher in our Docklands Studios sound stage/dance hall.
