24.01.2022 Great information on why outdated punishment techniques are so harmful. Why would you use them on a dog?

23.01.2022 Alaska is doing her bit to spread the word about canine eosinophilic furunculosis. (warning: graphic) https://www.walkervillevet.com.au/blog/dog-sores-face-nose/

21.01.2022 This is why I never recommend retractable leashes.

20.01.2022 Great information from the amazing Zazie Todd PhD. https://www.psychologytoday.com//you-arent-dog-and-other-s

20.01.2022 We always know, with or without a phone call!

16.01.2022 Clearly I've got to get Kiwi working a bit harder!

15.01.2022 I cannot understand why this idea of ‘dominance’ is still so pervasive. It says a lot about us as humans that we think this of our dogs.

15.01.2022 Do you have a Seniors Card? Receive 10% off training with Dog Knows if so. http://seniorscard.sa.gov.au/

13.01.2022 Does your dog have a ‘place-mat’? Alaska and Monty have this travel mat which can be easily taken out and becomes a cue to lie down and settle. I brought it in to put it in the wash, and Alaska has dutifully put it to use! A great sanity saver for cafe and sports visits.

12.01.2022 So the fake dog didn’t fool Indy for long - not so two middle-aged ladies who kept yelling at me to grab the dog even if he’s not yours because he’s valuable! No amount of yelling it wasn’t real would convince them! #dogtraineradelaide #dogtrainingadelaide #forcefree #dachshund #fake

12.01.2022 Very interesting - pronouns matter! https://www.psychologytoday.com//animals-aren-t-it-pets-pr

12.01.2022 Not to be outdone by Alaska, Monty’s decided the ‘place-mat’ is the place to be! My training’s paid off! Now for the other ‘little’ issues!

11.01.2022 Sunday Funday post; Probably one of my favourite positive trainers but he upped and disappeared like 4 years ago.

10.01.2022 Dog parks can be great for some dogs but they’re not for every dog. Here’s ten tips to help you and your dog enjoy the experience. #dogpark

08.01.2022 Dog attacks are scary, whether they are really all just noise, or whether they result in serious injuries to dogs, other animals or humans. Great info here on just how prevalent they are, how to stop them safely, and what to do if they occur. https://www.walkervillevet.com.au/blog/dog-attack/

08.01.2022 Don’t be swayed by your dog’s breeding. Train the dog in front of you. Dogs of the same breed are incredibly varied, so pigeon-holing them when devising training plans - or worse, using their breed as an excuse to do or not do something - is incredibly counter-productive.

06.01.2022 Is your dog nervous or reactive? Read on for some excellent tips to make her more comfortable.

05.01.2022 Alaska loved the opportunity to work with Indy on his dog reactivity. We didn’t think they’d end up best friends within about 20 minutes! Indy’s letting the world know about his new buddy!
