24.01.2022 Max started our day train program today! He’s 11 weeks old and is a schmoodle He did great and we introduced him to several different dogs to start building his social skills. We also started on his leash skills to teach him what leash pressure means. What a champ

22.01.2022 Teaching one of our day train dogs how to open a cupboard This skill took a few weeks to teach (a few short sessions a day once a week as that’s how often he attends) There is a food reward inside the cupboard and I mark and reward his attempts until we reach the goal of opening the cupboard!

09.01.2022 A socialisation session from one of our day train days. We have a mix of dogs, older dogs, younger dogs, puppies, small breeds, large breeds, and desexed and undesexed dogs. They are all guided on how to interact appropriately without being crazy and adrenalised in a controlled and structured environment. They don’t have to be over excited and uncontrollable in the presence of other dogs.

04.01.2022 Here’s a video teaching little Bear how to to leash pressure. When he first experienced leash pressure he would pull back and whine. Most people would react to this by picking him up and feeling sorry for him because he is so cute and little...but that is not teaching him how to respond to leash pressure appropriately, and so not setting him up for future success. After creating some clear communication for him, showing him what we want and reinforcing it, he is coming along great and not opposing the leash anymore

02.01.2022 Today little Nala joined our day train program such a cutie Learning to be around other dogs and how to interact appropriately is so important for puppies. It’s not something that is just learned in a couple of sessions, it’s something that needs constant work as the puppy matures. Attending puppy school for a few weeks won’t cut it.... Quality over quantity is key and keeping up with the training. The day training program is also for any dogs that need to learn foundation training and work on their social skills
