22.01.2022 UPDATE.. I rang the pet crematorium in Toowoomba yesterday and was told that the lady who called us for help has being paying a small payment each fortnight...S...he is struggling and is attempting to pay the best she can...The cost was high for the little Roma one because fees were about $140 for courier from Roma to Toowoomba. Many people especially those on pensions pay $10 a fortnight because they just want their babies home.. Yes she is genuine and not everyone is strong enough to bury a med/large dog in their backyard and not everyone is comfortable having their animals go to a dump tip. To the vets who referred us - thank you.. There's a life tied up in a beloved pet and for many of us losing them is very hard - please be respectful when we help people on this page and not rubbish them for their choices and beliefs. If the Island Ranger takes up the position in outback QLD it's interesting who the local vet is and he will be referring us to her... Small world isn't it and not far from the Isa.

12.01.2022 Can I please ask that you share this on your facebook page. Sarge, who is my son's dog was taken 4 years ago from the Warner area in Qld. He has just been found... in NSW, dumped and in a bad way. Luckily he was still microchipped to my son and Kyle was notified 2 days ago that Liverpool pound had the dog in their possession. It is believed that he has been used in a dog fighting syndicate and will take a lot of care to get him right. Thank you to some wonderful people Pete Hillteleone and David Graham, Sarge is now in good hands until we can safely bring him home to Queensland with Kyle Anthony Arndell where he belongs. However we would like to track down anyone who knows anything about this dog so we can hopefully find the person or persons responsible. Amongst all of this Kyle and his partner are expecting a baby and moving house. He has never asked for any hand out throughout his life and has always been the first to put his hand up to help others, we a go fund me page has been set up to assist him with the costs of getting Sarge home and his food and ongoing vet care. Please click the link below if you are able to help in any way, it will be greatly appreciated and we have also set up a page for Sarge so that you can follow his progress and we hope to film his reunion. https://www.gofundme.com/f/bring-sarge-back-home-to-qld https://www.facebook.com/Sarge-Arndell-108564527661874

09.01.2022 This week the NSW Parliament passed an important Bill to expand family violence protections to include animals. This is a simple, common sense step that comes ...in response to mounting evidence that domestic violence perpetrators often threaten to harm or kill pets in the course of their abuse. There is so much more we need to do to stop domestic violence in NSW - but hopefully this law will at least mean animals are no longer used to intimidate and manipulate victims. If you or someone you know is dealing with domestic violence call the 24/7 NSW Domestic Violence Line on 1800 65 64 63 Domestic Violence NSW
07.01.2022 Spring is officially here and lots of gardening happening, lots of allergies in your pets as well, check out all these plants that are toxic or cause allergies .... We can help you quite a lot with your itchy dogs, you will not cure most itches but you can learn to manage them at home very much cheaper than a 4 week visit to the vet. List of Plants Toxic to Dogs Anemone or windflower (A. coronaria) Brunfelsia (Yesterday-Today-Tomorrow plant causes seizures when dogs eat the toxic berries and seed pods. Bulbs (onions, plus all the spring-flowering favourites, such as daffodils, tulips, jonquils, and snowdrops) Caladium bicolor (indoor foliage plant) Castor oil plant (Ricinus communis) Chalice vine (Solandra maxima) Cherry tree (Prunus serrulata) Clematis (the large-flowered hybrids) Cotoneaster (Cotoneaster glaucophylla) Cycads (seeds on female plants) Cyclamens (possibly all species) toxic to dogs and cats Australian Cat Lover's Arya will investigate anything! Daffodils (Narcissus varieties) Daphne (various) Delphiniums Devil’s ivy (Epipremnum aureum) Dicentra (Dicentra spectabilis) Dieffenbachia Euphorbias, Poinsettias, Euphorbia characias ssp. wulfenii, Euphorbia tirucalli 'Sticks on Fire' (Red Pencil Tree) Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea) Golden Robinia (R. pseudoacacia ‘Frisia’) Hellebore (Helleborus orientalis) Heliotrope (Heliotropium spp.) also called Hortensia: highly toxic, it can cause liver destruction when ingested Hemlock (Conium maculatum) Holly (Ilex varieties) Hydrangeas Indoor Plants: many are poisonous to pets, so it’s wise to keep all indoor plants out of the reach of puppies and kittens especially, but also adult dogs and cats. Iris Jerusalem cherry (Solanum pseudocapsicum) Jasmine (not clear which ones) Lantana, of the Verbenaceae family Lantana, also called Red sage, Wild sage, Yellow Sage, and Shrub Verbena. (L. camara, the common one) Lilac (Syringa varieties) Liliums: All parts of the plant are particularly toxic to kittens and cats, causing kidney failure and death; reactions are not quite so severe in dogs. Mountain laurel (Kalmia varieties) Mushrooms (not clear which ones) Nightshade (Solanum nigrum) Oaks (Quercus varieties the acorns are toxic to pets) Oleanders (Nerium oleander, Thevetia peruviana) Philodendron (many, it appears) Pine (e.g., savin, Juniperus sabina, also several others) Poinciana (not the tropical tree, but the shrub Caesalpinia pulcherrima) Potato plants and green potatoes Privet (Ligustrum varieties) Pyracantha (unclear which one) Rhododendron (including azaleas) Rhubarb (presumably the leaves) Sago Palm (Cycas Revoluta) - contains cycasin which causes liver failure Snowdrops (Leucojum) Snowflakes (Leucojum) Solandra maxima (chalice vine) Stephanotis (Madagascar jasmine) (consumption of the seed pods is especially deadly to dogs) Strelitzias (Strelitzia reginae, S. nicolai) Sweet peas Toadstools Tomato Plants Tulips Walnuts (mouldy nuts near the ground) Wandering Jew (Tradescantia albiflora) is very common in gardens especially in moist, shady areas. It is a horrible weed that will grow in near total shade and almost can’t be killed. Wisteria Yellow oleander (Thevetia peruviana) Yew (Taxus varieties) By being aware of these dangers and taking proper precautions, you can keep your favourite plants and pets safe. Most pesticides, insecticides and lawn fertilisers are also toxic to your pets. You can also find a comprehensive list on the Pet Poison Hotline website. If you suspect your dog has ingested a toxic substance, you can call the Australian Animals Poison Centre (free hotline) for advice on 1300 869 738. Another lesser known danger around the garden is Cocoa Mulch used as garden mulch. Cocoa Mulch aka 'Cocoa Bean Mulch' or 'Cocoa Shell Mulch' is used as a mulch in home gardens in some countries. It's a by-product of the manufacture of cocoa powder and other chocolate products. There have been several reports of pets being poisoned by cocoa mulch in the United States and United Kingdom. It is generally not available in Australia however adequate precautions should be taken. There are generally no label warnings about the potential toxicity to pets on the packaging of cocoa mulch so owners may not be aware of the serious risk these products pose to their pets.
