24.01.2022 Is your dog a bed hog? When we first brought Ziggy home years ago, we were adamant the bed would be a Ziggy-free zone. With confidence and a sense of pride, we instilled a suite of rules to follow so he knew who was boss. We'd be firm but fair dog mamas. For his sake and ours, it was the right thing to do. We laugh at that now. And Ziggy would laugh too if we ever told him to get off the bed. ... For the first 6 months it all went so well. But over time, Ziggy slowly but surely pulled on our heart strings (while simultaenously pulling a swifty on us), relegating our rules to the stuff of myth or urban legend. I guess we started with good intentions. That counts for something...right? See more

While Ziggy chose to celebrate by having a sing-a-long (see our story!) we thought we'd add to his embarrassment by sharing a list of the weird and wonderful things we love most about him! 1. The silly look on his face when our armpit rubs are on point ... 2. His judgemental gaze when we're two minutes late to go walkies 3. The way he grumbles when slightly moved or - god forbid - picked up for a cuddle, despite snoring contentedly 2 minutes later 4. The way he wags his tail when trying to look extra cute or pull a swifty on us 5. How he sleeps flat on his back all day as if hung over 6. Eyes are the window to the soul after all When inside your home, have your dog face the direction of a window or door so they are facing the light. Filtered light is best, as bright direct sun is too harsh!... Look for catchlights in their eyes - those little white reflections of light. Can you see them in this image? Truth be told, we're equal parts excited and scared to put this out to the world And anyone that knows us will tell you why...being IN FRONT of the lens for a change is definitely not our favourite thing to do (just the thought of it gives Shell heart palpitations, and causes Katy to break out in a rash!) Private meltdowns aside, a BTS video has been on our to-do list forever. Afte...r all, what better way to show what an in-home pet photo shoot with us is really like, than to take you along with us? We hope that getting to know us through this video puts a big smile on your face, just like it did for us, at a time we all need most P.S. 17.01.2022 Hey guys, a little update from us and a whole lotta love xx Like many of you, the news that restrictions will be extended for some time was really difficult to hear. Of course there is no priority higher than our health, and we know the government is doing its best in an awful situation. But all of that doesnt stop the heartbreak we feel for our business. These are tough times for sure, and our hearts go out to all of our fellow Melburnians who are strugg...ling right now. We feel for the families that have lost loved ones, for those struggling with isolation and their mental health, and for the many, many small businesses feeling scared and utterly helpless. What is so important for us all to remember though, is that there WILL be better days ahead. We just need to stay strong and hold on a little bit longer. And we need to know that every passing day brings us one day closer to getting our lives back. To getting back our city that we all know and love so much. To our lovely clients with bookings up to mid October, we have contacted you via email and are beyond disappointed to have to cancel. Benny is a pomeranian x maltese with a ridiculously cute lucky left ear He shares an incredibly heartwarming, special bond with his adoring pawrents, Antonette and Jerome, whose story is a timely reminder that the love and companionship of a dog can help us overcome anything. 16.01.2022 Chats with your dog. Hands up who does this And what do you guys talk about? Since weve all been in lockdown, have you found yourself talking to your dog more often than normal? Before covid, whenever we needed to leave the house, wed give Ziggy the same old speech that started with something like, "You need to be a big boy and look after the house now."... This would be followed by us asking what he plans to get up to, if hes going to have lots of sleeps while were gone, before parting ways with 10-15 "I love yous". During lockdown our chats have been a little different though! Things weve heard ourselves say recently include: "Ziggy, how do you feel about us getting matching bandanas and face masks. Would that embarrass you...?" "Um...whats your iso weight at? Youre looking a tad thick around the belly. Youre going on rations!" "Ziggy you just slept 16 hours straight, how can you be tired?? Being a lifestyle pet photographer means I get to stand outside people's homes, peer through their windows and take photos of their family...and although it sounds dodgy, it's all completely above board...I promise! Take this creeping through the window shot for example. I love shots like this because it really gives that natural and candid 'fly on the wall' perspecti...ve that we love so much about lifestyle photography. So if you think you dont have many photo worthy spots in your home, dont stress! Shell and Katy felt like old friends from the second they arrived, and our photos were so natural and lovely - we'll treasure them forever." - Sarah, proud mama of 7 year old spoodle, Petal. Petal (or 'Petsy' as she loves to go by) is such a good girl! The winner of our "Melbourne's Goodest Dog Competition" last year, sweet Petsy was a therapy dog before covid hit, spending her days bringing smiles and comfort to patients in hospital.
