24.01.2022 Happy Mother’s Day to all the fur mummas out there. Jaila decided rolling in a muddy puddle would be the perfect gift for me. So I’ve rewarded her with a wash Fortunately our local pet shop has an amazing and easy DIY set up. @habitatpetsupplies #dogfriendly #diydogwash #dogsofinstagram #happymothersday #furmum #furmumlife #bespokeceremonies #dogfriendlycelebrant #weddingready @ Newport, Victoria, Australia

17.01.2022 Lest We Forget . Very proud of my family history. My Great Grandfather - Captain William Henry Orchard, 38th Battalion AIF, awarded the Military Cross during the fight to control Broodseinde Ridge early on the morning of 4 October 1917. The citation reads, 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Owing to his officers being killed or wounded early in the fight, he found himself in command of the assaulting troops. He carried out his task and re-organised in a ver...y efficient manner. His energy and cheerfulness in depressing circumstances were an incentive to all.' Orchard subsequently commanded D Company of his Battalion and his report of the operation on 4 October 1917 appears in the Battalion War Diary. He and his horse brought every man in from the battlefield who lay wounded, dying or dead. His men called her Mother as they said it was like their mother coming to take them to safety. He was also before WWI Captain and Coach of the Geelong Football Club and was part of the very first Aussie Rules international team where he played at the Queens Club in 1916 at an exhibition match. His jumper that he wore is on display at the Gartland Heritage Centre at the Geelong Football Club. He came back from WWI having lost his right eye with a schrapnel would a a large deep scar on his leg from a bayonet wound. Those were the ones you could see, no doubt there were many more internal ones. He died in 1965.
