23.01.2022 We feel there is nothing better than being able to get out there and #explore #Tasmania with your dog as your #adventurebuddy. There are many places in the State overlooked that will provide you with stunning scenery and magical experiences with your dog to #creatememories to last forever . . . .... . #discovertasmania #travelquotestoliveby #travelquoteoftheday #traveldogaustralia #traveldog #dogquotes #dogadventures See more

23.01.2022 @jeanette_proctor and friend taking a peak over the edge of Little Blue Lake on the States North East. The lake was once used for alluvial Tim mining and is located on the Gladstone Rd between South Mount Cameron & Gladstone. Beware that although it looks inviting the water is toxic being contaminated with heavy metals left from the residue of mining for Tin. If you are interested in gem collecting though the area is popular for searching for Smokey quartz, topaz & amethyst. ... 22.01.2022 The weather is getting better here for some great beach adventures. We visited Roaring Bay Beach #huonvalleytasmania on a slightly windy day but it provided some great off leash runs and fantastic views. 16.01.2022 #huonvalley #southernedge We were in for a long day for Day 3 as we were heading to Cockle Creek to check it out after hearing many folk rave about it. Our fi...rst stop was at Franks Cider in Franklin to grab a coffee & pick up a selection of Ciders. The place is dog friendly but it was the wrong time of day for us to be stopping. I did manage to pop across the road and see a few of the Wooden Boats though at the Wooden Boat Museum while waiting for coffee. We then stopped in Port Huon at #ShipwrightsPoint and headed down to the water. Some fantastic views here out across the river, did I say I could live in this neck of the woods? Very stunning locality, so green and the stillness of the water makes for great photos. Shipwrights is a camping area with BBQ facilities but you need to be quite self sufficient otherwise. The dogs made a beeline for the water...as per usual but as we had a long way to go we preferred they stayed dried for a bit longer.. We took the Esperance Coast Road for the scenic drive. A rocky shoreline with a few little stops along the way but no beach, so if you didn’t mind a bit of rock hopping over the pebbles you could get down to the water easily enough. Again the number of salmon farms out in the river blew me away. I had no idea there were so many. Our first major stop was at #RoaringBayBeach. A trifle windy this morning but just beautiful. I am constantly amazed at the beautiful spots we have that dogs can go to,if you’re prepared to travel a bit. The beach is off lead all year. After a good romp it was off to Dover for lunch. #KentBeach is another wonderful stop for dogs and there are dog friendly cafes in Dover, although when we went quite a few were closed. Then it was the long drive to Cockle Creek. Once past the Ida Bay Railway the road becomes dirt. Good dirt road but my word people do not drive to the road conditions, especially those towing caravans. How there are not more accidents reported I’m gobsmacked. Make sure you have windscreen insurance! We wanted to visit #CockleCreek for 2 reasons, 1 Christina has family buried there and she wanted to check out the little cemetery where they are, I found the history of her family in the area fascinating to listen to as well as reading the history of other families present. 2. Cockle Creek is always raved about. To be honest I found it quite disappointing. I thought there are far prettier places that allow dogs, and I didn’t think much of the camping spots either. Maybe I’d had it built up in my mind of this magical stunning place to go with dog...? Anyway all I can say is ‘been there’ and tick it off. Of course access to the National Park may have given me a different perspective, but without my dogs being able to come along ...nah. Day 4 Generally the day before leaving for us is a quiet one. We don’t travel far, catch up on washing, cleaning if we’ve missed anything over the last few days. We did pop down to #DripBeach south of Cygnet for the dogs to cool off in the water, and again this is a lovely beach placed off Lymington Rd. It had the unusual feature of a fallen log jutting into the sea that had been graffitied making for some unusual photos. My verdict and I think Christina Jaggard would agree is that the Huon Valley is very dog friendly, there are so many places to walk and beaches to go that we missed far too much, a second visit is required.

10.01.2022 For those that ordered calendars they will be here the 4th Dec and I will forward on. I have ordered extra so if you would like one please send me a message.

09.01.2022 As we strolled around the new pathways @tahuneadventures we couldn’t help but notice and be saddened by the destruction of some of the old Giants of the Bush. These trees would have been well over 300+ years old but gone with the roar of flames making them unstable. Yet we also saw the future Giants that had sprouted green foliage and withstood the ravages of the bushfire. In time these trees will become the stately monarchs that our Tasmanian Bush is well known for. . Have ...you been to Tahune and tried the #tahuneairwalk with your dog? Tag us and let us know. . 04.01.2022 When you’re finished exploring the @tahuneadventures grounds, been amazed at the bravery of your dog on the #tahuneairwalk park yourself on the large deck of the Visitor Centre/Cafe/Restaurant and listen to the birdsong in the trees. You can order local wine, beers & cider from the Huon Valley region. Don’t forget to give your furry mate a treat or two from your plate, all local sourced produce . . . .... . #tasmaniantourism #dogfriendlycafe #tictas #staycation2020 #discovertssmania #tasmaniawhyweloveit #tasmaniagram #bordercollies #aussieshepherds #southerntasmania See more
