25.01.2022 TRUST According to @cesarsway , there are 3 key elements to a happy stable #dog. Trust, Respect and love. All 3 are equally important. Today I want to talk about #buildingtrust . When your dog trusts you, pooch is less likely to react in negative ways. For example, do you cross the street when you see another dog coming? Why? Your dog senses that you are not comfortable confronting difficult situations and therefore may react aggressively when confronted with another dog. ...Pooch feels the need to protect you which means Pooch doesn't trust you to lead the pack. Gramsci, the German Shepard above, has some dog aggression issues. By taking him through a variety of challenges, he builds confidence and trust in me that I can protect him in any difficult situation. He was nervous about being near the unfamiliar hay bales at first, but in the second photo you see he has comfortably conquered his fear. It looks he is saying "right Simon, what's our next challenge?" And that trust makes him eager to please and obey me. Are you struggling with any challenges? Hit me up for any advice. Do you just take your dog on the same boring walk everyday? Look for obstacles to jump over, go under, climb up. Always stay safe and within your limits though. Need more tips on how to create trust? 16.01.2022 I absolutely believe that fast food chains whose rubbish is over-represented in litter found on the streets, should be responsible for the clean up, education of their customers or be forced to use products that decompose safely and quickly. TRAINING TIP Obviously keep your rubbish in a safe place where possible as it's full of interesting smells for a dog, but could also be a hazard. If your dog enjoys sticking their nose in unwanted places, try hiding #treats around the yard or around the house. A good way to drain some energy, provide mental stimulation and activate your #dogs most important #sense, smell. She will love the #challenge. Start simple if your dog doesn't get the #game at first, or search for the treats together.
