25.01.2022 A desperate plea was made last week to 3AW from a vet claiming that dog grooming needs to reopen. Dr Jack Zaks from Elsternwick Veterinary Clinic says the Stage 4 grooming ban is a welfare issue. He says his vet practice has been overwhelmed with dogs who have sustained injuries after their owners tried to groom them at home. For the sake of our precious pups, please sign and share

22.01.2022 Happy first birthday my darling George
21.01.2022 As devastated as I am, having been forced to temporarily close my business and not be able to provide care for your doggies as of last Wednesday, finally there’s a definitive response from the Premier’s office. Until now, the corporates have still been operating their grooming salons. Until I am allowed to re-open, please don't hesitate to call or message me for any tips about maintaining your pup's coat, or any other questions you may have regarding their well-being!! With much love to all of my dear clients and stay safe, Susie
20.01.2022 It’s Hannah and Monty’s first birthday today and celebrations are well underway! Happy birthday little sweethearts
18.01.2022 COVID STAGE 4 UPDATE I am very distressed to advise, that at this stage, grooming will not be permitted until 26th October. These further restrictions will inevitably cause serious welfare issues for many dogs, not just for my dear clients, but for dogs all over metropolitan Melbourne.... If you feel your dog requires grooming for welfare reasons, such as matting, chewing/scratching at skin, over-grown nails, can't see properly, hygiene concerns, overheating etc, I strongly encourage you to contact your vet. Please remember that severe matting is very painful for your dog, as well as potentially causing numerous other health issues. Please feel free to message or call me any time if you require any guidance regarding how to brush/comb your dog. If you're up to it, I also strongly encourage you to lobby your local government in regards to having genuine animal welfare concerns. Pet Industry Association of Australia are also seeking assistance for case studies from clients in regards to grooming welfare concerns. Their website is www.piaa.net.au And here is the link to the Premier’s office, every single message helps every doggie in Melbourne!! https://www.premier.vic.gov.au/contact-us Love and care, Susie
17.01.2022 Sadly, the Premier has unequivocally stated today that home based grooming is not permitted to reopen at this stage. We expect to reopen, along with mobile grooming, on 19th October.Sadly, the Premier has unequivocally stated today that home based grooming is not permitted to reopen at this stage. 06.01.2022 This is very real and their consequences must not be underestimated. Please check everywhere after every walk!
06.01.2022 As many of you will know, I have supported the government in making difficult but important evidence-based decisions, formulated on expert medical advice. If a ...few more weeks in stage 4 is necessary to stop the spread of coronavirus - then that's what needs to be done. Just because I support the government’s plan in principle, doesn’t mean there aren’t areas that need tweaking, or where I disagree in detail. When these restrictions first came into place, I wrote to the government with concern that dog grooming was deemed non-essential. Now that the government has extended restrictions, I have contacted them again today to say dog grooming must be reclassified for welfare. This new length of time will be far too long for many animals. For many breeds of dogs, and even cats, grooming is vital for animal welfare reasons. Dogs that go without regular grooming can end up with painful matting, skin irritation and overgrown nails, making it difficult to walk. Just like you can leave your home to go to the vet you should be able to leave your home to go to the groomer no matter where in Victoria you live. With more Victorians taking on a companion animal than ever before, it is vital that the government ensures they can safely get the care they deserve.
03.01.2022 Speaks for itself
03.01.2022 At this stage, dog groomers in metropolitan Melbourne aren’t permitted to operate until 26th October. This will inevitably lead to severe welfare issues for many dogs. Please post a pic of your dog here, on your own page, or dog group pages and add the hashtag #clipandcollect Please share!!
