24.01.2022 FOSTER CARERS NEEDED It’s raining dogs again and no foster carers means we can’t bring dogs in which means dogs are at risk of being put to sleep due to having no other options. Pet free homes are mostly needed until we get to know dogs that come in but all kinds of homes are wanted.... If you want a pup but can’t commit to a dog long term fostering is a great way of getting your pupper fix!!! 23.01.2022 REHOMING YOUR DOG There are a lot of incorrect information out there about dog rescues and rehoming. We want to clarify and explain the process so if you need to ask for help you can feel confident. 1. Foster Care - We don’t own kennels, dogs go into foster care which are regular family homes. If we use kennels they are private facilities and are short term only. Foster homes are vetted and we only use homes where dogs are family members and spoilt rotten.... 2. Vetwork - we ensure your dog gets all the vetwork they need. All dogs are desexed, vaccinated and chipped as a min. If they have health issues they will be treated by one of our fabulous vets. 3. Rehoming - we have a strict rehoming process, applications are sought and reviewed. ONLY those applications deemed suitable are then visited and a home inspection conducted. Only if the criteria is met is a meet organised, if all parties agree the dog goes on trial and can be retuned at any time. 4. Surrendering - we visit all dogs to conduct an assessment prior to them coming to us. This is so we can put them into the right foster home, identify training needs, dietary requirements and vetwork. 5. Training - if required your dog will receive ongoing training whilst in foster care. We use approved balanced and positive trainers. We DO NOT....... Put dogs to sleep for no reason Keep dogs locked up Deny dogs vetwork Use cruel training methods Rehome to inappropriate homes or homes that do not meet with the dogs needs The dogs do and always will come first. If you choose to surrender to us we will do our best to assist, please understand we are a small rescue with a small team and no facilities. We can only do our best. 23.01.2022 THANK YOU!!!!!! We would like to thank Joondalup Dog Training Club for their genergous donation. This club has been established for a long time and supports dog owners in the Northern areas of Perth. This is a really active and friendly club and one of our members is also an active participant of this club.... Jane is fostering Koda and has done an amazing job, he came to us with some triggers that resulted in unwanted behaviours. She has worked hard giving this gorgeous (and rather large) boy a secure, loving and consistent home with good training. He is now ready for his forever home! We cannot thank Jane enough and to Joondalup Dog Training Club for their ongoing support and positiveness. 21.01.2022 GOOD NEWS!!!!!! Thankfully none of our carers were affected by the fires and everyone is safe and well although rather tired!!!!! In other news whilst our wonderful volunteers were battling the awful fire these little ones decided to make an appearance just to add to our stress levels! Please meet our Bushfire Babies............. Not only that mum got sick and ended up at the emergency vet and is now home recovering. Tilly gave birth to 8 healthy babies, she is an amazing mum. Thank you to everyone who dropped off supplies and donated $$ we are super grateful and it's all being put to good use. This is litter number 3!!!!!!

19.01.2022 !!!! Urgent Foster Care Needed !!!! This gorgeous boy is in need of Foster care, very little is known about him as he’s coming in from kennels, we think he is between 1-2 yrs old and at this stage we are needing a pet free home for him. He is super social with all humans but has not been tested with children. He has had very little training so on going support will be given from the rescue. 18.01.2022 Mr Big (aka Biggie) Today we write this post to honour one of rescues legends. For those who are not aware of this rescue icon, Mr Big found himself in the pound in 2013 age unknown. No one claimed him so he went to the Animal Protection Society to be rehabilitated and rehomed. Mr Big was in terrible condition and he clearly had a rough life until that point. Eric Crozier (The Dog Communicator) was working with the dogs in their care, which he does to this day, and he saw so...mething very special in the big fella and from that day on they were a team. When they were assessing pound/rescue dogs it was almost like they shared a secret language. Biggie was always patient, walked away when needed to, played when suitable, but when a puppy was present he'd be straight onto his back letting the puppy crawl all over him. He always seemed at his happiest when puppies were around. As the years progressed Biggie started to slow down and Eric knew the Big man needed to retire to a nice big couch. He had spent his life paying it forward and helping so many dogs, it was now his time. He got to do just that when he went to enjoy his retirement with Michelle who had known Biggie for years whilst working with DFL and Rockingham Pound. In Michelle's words......... "I was tasked with making sure Biggie knew what it was like to be completely spoiled rotten, sleep in till whatever time in the morning he liked. Nothing gave me greater joy than watching Biggie and Bella (Michelle's dog) get closer and closer as the days went by, until eventually, Bella was always touching him when they slept, generally with their back legs entwined. While with me, I started taking him into work where a whole new set of Biggie fans were collected. The residents and staff loved him, and he loved them as they fed him all manner of things that he shouldn't really have been eating. But sadly, as so often happens in our giant breeds, his back legs continued to let him down, until eventually, he was unable to support his weight at all. He was ready, I could see it in his eyes that he was tired" Mr Big went to Rainbow Bridge on October 23rd surrounded by love knowing that he will have a special place in our hearts. We shall miss you Big guy......... Our deepest sympathies go to Eric and Michelle at this time. Found wandering the streets the rangers collected him and he’s now the office mascot. He’s a wolfhound x and pretty low energy. Happy to just snuggle at your feet. Couple of short walks and he’s spent!!!! He cries to tell you he needs to go out for pee pee so generally a very good boy. Fine with other dogs and has met a cat and showed no interest, he’s only 9 months old so still a pup. Ideally would like him to go with another dog. He needs his vetwork done which we will sort out

14.01.2022 The one person that is good at making us feel OK has 4 legs, a wet nose and a wagging tail!!!! If you email us, call us, deal with us please remember that we are volunteers often under significant stress. People who volunteer in rescue are never "off the clock" and we are faced with immense pressure and often have to drop everything including our own lives/families/work/hobbies to sort out yours.... Just remember to exercise a little patience when contacting us and asking for help or enquiring about a dog. You have no idea what kind of day that person is having!!! Thank you x

We are looking for foster care for this handsome boy, unfortunately very little is known about him at the moment so we need someone who has experience with big dogs and is pet free until we can learn more about him. He is not tested with children so would not advise anyone with children under 12 applying. He is a complete love bug and is more than happy to be cuddled up with ...his humans. He will need to be taught some basic training so on going support will be given from the rescue. Luna is an anxious girl who just wants to be around people, she needs to be in a pet free home at this point whilst we continue to work on her anxiety issues. 12.01.2022 PUPDATE......... Things have been crazy, sadly Mumma was highly stressed and could not settle. We waited as long as we could but the puppies were starting to go downhill so we made the hard decision to seperate. We do not like doing this but our priority is everyone’s welfare.... All puppies are have now bounced back with bottle feeding. But this means we now need Divetelact to keep them going. We will be using some of the funds raised to buy supplies plus kennel fees and desex mum before she’s returned to her owner. However we need lots as we have 6 weeks plus to feed them. If anyone wants to donate any feed and baby wipes then it’s appreciated. Pups are NOR. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far we are so grateful

11.01.2022 How amazing is Peta from Woof meow tweet squeak who donated all of these treats the the DBBR dogs! We asked for photos but a lot of the treats were gone before our carers could snap up photos Here’s one of our gorgeous adopted dogs (sister to foster dog Koda) who found it hard to sit still with the smell of the treats The packs consisted of dog friendly dog cookies, duck feet, trachea and venison tails for some bigger pooches.... 09.01.2022 FOSTER or ADOPT SHADOW She’s certainly a shadow of her former self, over bred and with a puss filled uterus from not being desexed this girl was very close to death. She was taken to the vets to be euthanised but the vet decided to save her instead and performed the life saving surgery to remove the pyometra.... She’s made a full recovery, she’s just a gorgeous sook and dog/kid social. She has met cats but too interested. She would love a home to see out her golden years. Easy girl to have around but by no means does she think she’s old, in her head she’s a young girl who can still turn heads! DESEX YOUR PETS!!!!!! 05.01.2022 HAT TRICK PUPDATE!!!!! Well there’s no stopping this boy now, look at him go! ... He’s recovering well and he is loving life. He will soon come up for adoption, he will be looking for a chilled household with another dog where he’s going to be spoilt rotten. This dog loves couches so being allowed on the couch to snooze for hours on end is a top priority for this boy!!!!

03.01.2022 HELP!!!!! We have had an emergency run to Kalgoorlie to collect puppies needing to come in from a remote area. When we got there late last night we found out that there are two lots of Mums and pups. One family are en route to Perth now and the next lot is getting collected Monday.... We desperately need the following:- Puppy pads Baxters puppy milk Cleaning wipes Washing Powder Chicken necks, wings, drumsticks Beef mince Also, BIG ask, does anyone have a freezer they are willing to donate to our NOR carer so she can freeze mummas food? 01.01.2022 HARLEY Meet Harley the beautiful 5yr old staffy x He is dog social and loves people, he will do what he can to make his humans happy. ... Harleys manners have room for improvement but he is a super smart boy who responds really well to training he loves his treats as a reward for his good behaviour. Harley loves to go for long walks as he has plenty of energy to burn he does pull when he gets excited but he has been working on this with his carer and is improving everyday. Harleys foster carer says he is a great dog and friend, he is really quick to learn what you expect from him, he loves his humans, enjoys his long walks but is also happy to chill with you and watch tv. Harley needs a home where he has company either of the human kind or a playful female dog if you work full time. He isn’t great around cats and is untested with other animals. This boy is really loyal and with someone who can continue his training and give him the unconditional love he needs he will be the perfect best friend. 01.01.2022 A big thank you to Tric Bassendean Pet Food Supplies for the amazing donation for Bindi and her pups.
