01.01.2022 Halo's Journey So Far The learning curve I've experienced over the past few months has been off the charts. First with Shred staying with us so I could learn the ways of the Malinois (I was told she'd make me fall in love with the breed, and she sure did). ... Then with the arrival of our own pup Halo. Halo will be part of Kaizen K9's (formerly Geurts K9 Solutions) breeding program. Kaizen K9 train and supply police, military, and elite personal protection dogs. Halo will be part of Kaizen K9's breeding program and was developed and handpicked to have the best genetics (nerves, sociability and trainability) possible for the program, and I get to develop her! She's the first working line dog we've owned and I'm already obsessed. We'll be doing protection sports with her (Schutzhund / IGP) and I've been learning about the differences between raising and training sport/working dogs compared to companion pet training. I'm grateful and honoured to have such an elite dog (who's SOOO affectionate it's made up for the high-drive puppy teeth ). I once swore I'd never own a working line dog, but just goes to show 'never say never'. Stay tuned for updates on Halo (and my) journey!
