23.01.2022 CHOCOLATE TOXICITY Easter is just around the corner, but as delicious as chocolate is, it is highly toxic to our 4-legged friends Animals are not as to...lerant to the toxic effects of chocolate as humans and they can get sick from very small amounts. Dogs will not think before they eat and left unattended they will devour large quantities (cats are more fussy). Why is chocolate toxic to them? - Chocolate (and caffeine) contain methylxanthine theobromine this is what is toxic. - The darker the chocolate, the higher the methylxanthine theobromine content and the more toxic it is. Signs your animal may have ingested chocolate? - Clinical signs occur within 1-2 hours post ingestion. - The wrappers leave a trail, or you find your animal in the act!. - Drinking abnormally large amounts of water. - Restlessness/lack of co-ordination. - Vomiting/diarrhoea. - Seizures/tremors/hyperexcitability/pounding heart rates. - Coma/death. What to do if your dog eats chocolate? - Call your veterinary clinic immediately, if we deem the quantity is high enough to cause concern, we will recommend making your animal vomit (best done at the vet where we can monitor your animals response). Have fun this Easter but don’t forget to keep your chocolate in a safe place away from the animals.
21.01.2022 This is all we want for Christmas. Please stop with the byb breeding and impulse buying. So many people get a puppy for Xmas and can’t handle them whenever they... grow. So many irresponsible people breed their dogs because ‘they are cute’ but really it’s a money making scheme. Be a responsible owner and desex your dog. If you can afford a holiday, you can afford to desex, register, microchip and vaccinate your dog. See more

02.01.2022 This is important to consider. Also please do not expect children to care for the pets and leave it their responsibility. This usually will fail 98% of the time and the Pet is the one who suffers once the newness wears off
