20.01.2022 Chong Labrador x Catahoula . The Catahoula Leopard Dog is the official state dog of Louisiana, USA. Their exact lineage is unknown, however it is believed early French settlers crossbred their dogs with well-adapted swamp hunting wolf dogs owned by Native Americans in an effort to develop a better working dog. In the 1800s, breeding intensified in an effort to develop a family dog that was well-suited to work, hunt & guard, yet good with children. Catahoulas have a natural ...& unique way of working a herd - the AKC (American Kennel Club) describes it as creating a canine fence around the herd which allows the dog's master to work the herd within that circle. . @mattparish . #catahoula #catahoulaleoparddog #louisianastatedog #akc #rescue #adoptdontshop #dogsofbyronbay #byronbay #byronshire #petminder #dogsitter #dogsofinstagram #dog #dogtrainer #deltasocietyaustralia #mansbestfriend See more

06.01.2022 KENNEL COUGH WARNING Byron & Ballina Shires . Canine cough, also known as kennel cough, is an infectious disease that affects the respiratory system of dogs. This condition is the result of several highly infectious airborne diseases which can be easily spread wherever dogs congregate and socialise.... Kennel cough may persist for several weeks & has the potential to progress into a more serious & life-threatening infection if pneumonia & chronic bronchitis develop. Symptoms can be distressing for dogs & for you as a pet parent; dry, hacking cough gagging or vomiting after excitement or ingestion of food eye & nasal discharge sneezing & snorting fever & lethargy The repetitive dry cough normally develops three to ten days after exposure. Most dogs are vaccinated at a young age for kennel cough however this not does make them totally immune, it can however reduce the severity of the cough if they do come into contact with it. Annual boosters are recommended, normally combined with distemper, hepatitis & parvovirus vaccinations. If your dog starts to show any of the symptoms above, please keep your dog isolated & contact your vet ASAP . . . #kennelcough #caninecough #byronshire #ballinashire #vet #byronbay #dogsofbyronbay #petminder #petsitter #dogtrainer #dog #puppy #dogminder #dogwalker See more
