21.01.2022 Woof! Im Squid, an Australian Koolie. Im 18 months old and Im full of personality and am always happy! Seriously... ALWAYS happy and eager to do anything! Most of all I just love to run around and herd sheep! My human says Im super clever but I just love showing off my tricks. I compete in lots of dog sports but am taking a break at the moment with some down time while this pandemic is happening. Im enjoying all the parks and bush land in and around Wellard too.... 16.01.2022 Woof! My name is ‘Teddy’ (but it could also be ‘Good Boy!’, ‘Come Here’ or ‘No’). I’m only 4 months old and I am a purebred Havanese. What’s that you ask? Well, I’m the national dog of Cuba and am now one of the most popular breeds in America. We are smart, friendly but very hard to toilet train. I like slow walks, in fact very slow as everything is new to me and all sights and smells are a distraction that I just have to check out. I also like watching tv, chewing shoes a...nd biting my owner’s ankles. You may notice I have only one eye. That’s because I got too close to another dog that didn’t like me licking his face and when he told me to go away his tooth caught my eye and so I had to have an operation to have it removed. It happened when I was only 12 weeks old but I have healed well and learning to live without it. In fact, I think it makes me look unique and my parents joke that because my name is ‘Teddy’ they should sew a button on as a replacement. I’m growing big and am now nearly able to jump on my owner’s bed. I can’t wait for that day to come. This crisis our owners are going through at the moment is a happy time for us dogs as we get to have them home all day. Some people even have the suspicion it was dogs who started the virus for this very reason. 15.01.2022 Woof! I’m Luka (almost 10) and this is Reko (almost 8). We are both male Finnish Lapphunds and we’ve been with our human owners since we were 8 weeks of age. Finnish Lapphunds were originally bred in Finland by the Sami people, as companion dogs and to round up reindeer. As a breed we are very laid back and easy going and great family dogs. We tend to be as active or lazy as our humans are! There are now about 130 of us Lappies (as we are known) in Western Australia. Our b...reed has the greatest known colour varieties of any formal breed of dog but we are the most common colour. As you can imagine, our coats take a bit of care and we get groomed every 6 weeks. My owner describes me (Luka) as a being typical of the head strong spitz breeds but a real character full of love. I’m sometimes referred to as the faulty lappie as I fall over when I need attention: waiting for my belly to be rubbed. I’ve got so much personality! When I was 8 months old, the neighbours babysat a fellow dog with kennel cough and I contracted it. Even though I visited the vet the first day I coughed, it had unfortunately damaged my lungs. I need a ceretide puffer twice a day and I’ve accepted having a mask over my mouth and nose for 9 years now. I’m loved so much, that my human owners mum decided she wanted one of me too. When Reko was brought home, he was accepted at first sight for us both. Reko and I are very close and have never had a fight in all the years together. Delia (Reko’s human owner) reckons he’s an eternal puppy and such a sweetie. After a serious paw injury at 12 weeks, he became quite anxious and has a cautious nature. He loves nothing more than to snuggle on the lounge between Delia and her husband. If you see us out and about walking, we would love to say ‘Hi’ to people, other dogs not so much. I’ve been attacked 4 times and I prefer human contact to that of other dogs. 14.01.2022 Woof! Im Gypsy a Kelpie X and today is my 3rd birthday!!! Im full of Kelpie energy and I live to chase a ball! But Im a princess and my human owner (Nikki) and family love me so much. Ive been by her side and supporting the family through the pregnancy of baby human Patrick. Im still a baby (9 weeks old) and havent finished getting all my needles yet so I havent yet started to venture around our neighbourhood! I cant wait to be out and meet some new friends! Hopefully by the time I have had all my needles, the world will be a little less crazy and my human can feel safe to go out again! 11.01.2022 Woof! I’m Theo and I’m a birthday boy this week too!!! I’m a mini labradoodle and am a bit adventurous and love climbing rocks and going on camping trips with my humans. I’m a co sleeper cause my owners can’t get to sleep without me and let me sleep in their bed (usually on their heads but sometimes under the covers with my head on their pillow). I bring a different toy every night to bed and they wait whilst I choose one from the toy box My owner Amber-Rose reckons I’...m the snuggliest dog ever!
