As a starting point, I have always had dogs in my life and it is through learning about those different breeds and taking care of them after illness or injury that I wanted to do more, become more involved in their recovery, and so began the search for ways to do just that. It has been a long journey for me to get to this plac...e - where I know that I can help get dogs back up on their feet and move without experiencing previous pain levels - enjoying life once again. I love working with dogs and their owners to achieve the best outcome. I have also learned a lot from a veterinary point of view and have been referred a number of challenging cases by Dr Justine Campbell of Tableland Veterinary Services, for which I am very grateful. Thank you, Justine! My business is called DogWorks NQ and to put it simply I provide wholistic professional deep tissue massage (myofunctional therapy) to all dogs. This therapy is an important facet of a complete wellness program for your dog, working hand in hand with traditional veterinary care, chiropractic and other natural complementary therapies. My goal, with this therapy, is to achieve the best level of balance, range of movement and well-being for your dog and every single dog I treat. If your dog is an older dog, show dog, competition or working dog or much loved companion the benefits of deep tissue massage, by using specialised hands-on techniques, can help to restore, enhance and maintain your dog’s overall wellbeing. Professional Massage can help your dog to relax, relieve anxiety, reduce chronic pain (for example arthritis) and assist with recovery from injury and surgery. Myofunctional Therapy, meaning muscle function therapy, can relieve swelling, muscle stiffness and pain, increase range of movement, muscle tone, circulation and speed the healing process. For Competition Dogs, a warm up massage prepares the dog for the event and warm down after the event reducing the possibility of post-competition cramps and muscle soreness.
