09.01.2022 AUSTRALIAN WOOL ON THE BACK OF AUSSIE CRICKETERS The Australian Cricket Team is well known for its an iconic cable-knit woollen vest, but overseas delays mea...nt a new batch almost couldn't be made in time! Did you know the vests are made in Adelaide by Silver Fleece? But coronavirus and wild weather means the Australian wool that is processed offshore took a little bit longer to arrive. Good news though - the first batch has been knitted and sent off just in time for the start of the cricket season. Cathy Barton from Silver Fleece said she just loves the thought of the cricketers themselves being so supportive of using Australian wool.

07.01.2022 The view from my lawn this morning. The ewes are about half way through lambing and we are still grain feeding but there’s a bit of green feed to be had now

06.01.2022 Lamb making finished for 2020. Considering the tough pasture year, A pleasing overall percentage of 100.8% lambs marked for ewes joined. All mobs well over 100% with only the maidens dragging the average down at 85% and a top of 116% in this mob of AI lambs. The two distinct ages that can be seen are the difference between lambs from the AI and the backup rams that went in a couple of weeks later 2019 rams will be available for private selection from the middle of September

04.01.2022 These lambs are all grown up and for sale by private selection

04.01.2022 14 week old ram lamb from Mianellup sire out of a Kerin daughter. Not so keen on getting its photo taken. Big bugger

03.01.2022 Although I can see the merits of mating ewe lambs in the modern sheep production system, we haven’t gone that way yet. I find the hogget year a great opportunity to push the mob hard while they are dry and cull anything that doesn’t maintain condition.

02.01.2022 I reckon there’s a very good chance this ewe has raised all three of those lambs. Bravo

02.01.2022 AI lambs getting bigger. A mix of Mianellup and Kerin Sires

01.01.2022 Dounbouillet lambs mixing it with the cross breeds again this year. With a couple of kilos of merino lambs wool as the kicker
