23.01.2022 11:15am Tuesday. When you took on a second job to fund your South American adventure, the last thing you expected to find was a potential travel buddy. Over coffee one of the guys mentioned he surfed, so you told him about your plans to brave the big waves off Chile. You half joked that he should join you. As soon as his passport comes through you’re both booking tickets. For planning the trip of a lifetime, there’s no place like Dôme.
22.01.2022 Chubby, bald and always smiling, he’s your Buddha bubba bringing joy to all he encounters. Through his gurgles and giggles, he reminds you to laugh everyday. This small person has taught you to stop sweating the small stuff. When you take the time to see the world through his eyes, you discover wonder everywhere. Who knew sugar packets were really tiny maracas? And serviettes! There’s at least ten minutes of entertainment in each one. For sitting in awe of your little creation, there’s no place like Dôme.

15.01.2022 11:30am Friday. He always jokes, I told you I loved you on our wedding day. If anything changes, I’ll let you know. While he’s a man of few words, especially when it comes to his feelings, he communicates how much he cherishes you every day, in a hundred little ways. It’s being greeted by a steaming mug of tea when you wake up; refilling your car when the tank runs low; making sure your garden secateurs are always sharp. It’s not the stuff of Hallmark cards but it declares you are his everything. For your 3984th date, there’s no place like Dôme.

15.01.2022 Whilst our dining rooms are now closed, Dôme is still here for you. We are open and offering our menu take-away only for breakfast, brunch, lunch and everything in between. So take Dôme home from 7am through to 2pm. Every Dôme, every day.
14.01.2022 Hello again. My name is Nigel and I’ve been the long-time CEO and co-owner of the Dome Café Group. Seven weeks ago, I wrote a little note on this same Facebook page on what was a terribly sad day. I, together with our head office team, cut our salaries to zero as we joined our café teams in going into a strange period of hibernation. This was a very scary time. But guided by the bright light of our brand being ‘a place of welcome and comfort’ we knew that closing our doors fo...r a while was the right thing to do for each of our café business owners, our team members and our guests. I have appreciated the many personal notes from our frontline people offering thanks not only for keeping their pay cheques going over this period, but putting their personal welfare and safety squarely ahead of any opportunity we may have had for short-term pandemic sales and profits. I love my daily fix of Dome as much as anyone else but where the sole agenda for our whole community was to avoid all non-essential social contact, then Stay Home, Save Lives was, for us, the only priority. With The Dome as a place where more than a million people in WA usually meet each month, we’ve no doubt ourselves made a decent contribution to flattening that wretched Covid-19 curve and laid a few pavers in the path to recovery for us all. During this week of takeaway-only sales we’ve been gradually opening our cafes, getting our pantries re-stocked and our beautiful people back on deck. It’s still not a time for focus on revenues but for smiles, laughter, reconnection and preparation. From next Monday 25th May, our wonderful dining rooms will progressively re-open for full-menu service albeit with the required limited numbers. Thank-you so much for keeping us in your memory at a time when we could not welcome you in person. In the weeks and months ahead, as restrictions gently ease we so look forward to again becoming that cherished ‘place of welcome and comfort’ for you all. Love, Nigel. See more

09.01.2022 8:25am Wednesday. Our favourite regular is a Jedi master of joy, making life better for anyone lucky enough to cross his path while he does the office coffee run. There’s the genuine smile for the team behind the counter, moving chairs out of the way for the weekend warrior on crutches and reassembling newspapers back together for the next readers. While he always humbly deflects praise, he will happily accept an extra marshmallow. For letting your personality shine through, there’s no place like Dôme.
09.01.2022 This is a very sad day for us all in the Dome family. My name is Nigel and I’ve been the CEO and co-owner of the Dome Café Group for nearly 20 years. I can remember the time when our team numbers were counted in the tens and not the thousands that we have today. In that whole time whilst we’ve been expanding with new cafes and hiring more and more amazing people, we’ve been careful to keep things small, humble and hands on.carefully growing our beautiful cafes across the lan...d. Never could we have imagined a situation such as that occurring over the next few days where all your favourite Dome Cafes will be going into a most unexpected period of hibernation. Each and every Dome Café is a place of welcome and comfort, where people from all walks of life come to connect and interact. Unfortunately, at this most unusual of times, we are unable to be that much cherished place for you all. Wherever you may be from Esperance to Port Hedland, and everywhere in between, thank-you for making us part of your lives. To our amazing, beautiful owners, managers and team members who fill our cafes with sunshine and smiles each day, we can’t wait to reunite with you on the other side and admire once again what you do so well. You both share the same sense of humour and can happily spend the afternoon buried in a book. Even her taste in literature is the same and you love introducing her to all your childhood favourites. You spied a copy of Anne of Green Gables on the bookshelf as you walked in. A story about a spirited girl? You can both identify with that. Happy Mother's Day from all of us at Dôme.

Then this little bundle of Christmas joy arrived and made you realise just how much you have been missing out on. You’ve already put in your order for more, however your daughter reckons you’ll have to wait at least two years. Maybe you should give your son and his partner a nudge along? For welcoming everyone into the family, there’s no place like Dôme.
