25.01.2022 This may not be a photo to win a contest but there it is - our first leaf of Spring, same place on the tree as always. It was three days late this year so maybe it decided to stay inside a little longer because of the cold weather. But the weather is beginning to warm up with a beatuful day forecast for Sunday with 24 deg and fresh winds and it's staying warm right through to next weekend Spring has arrived
25.01.2022 Its going to be a beautiful warm sunny Saturday in Kingsley, with a forecast of 27 deg by 2pm, no rain and a moderate north northeasterly. We cant offer you brunch at the café quite yet but we can make it for you to pick up and take away with you. So, all you need to do is find a sheltered spot in a nearby park and enjoy
25.01.2022 Cookie come back, we're opening up the courtyard on Saturday Phase 3 begins and we're so excited to be able to welcome many more of you back into the cafe - from 20 dine in to 100! A little less than pre-hibernation, we've taken out some tables so that you can physically distance and be safe. Coffee will be brewing and we can't wait to see you all.... From All The Team at dome Kingsley
25.01.2022 Today the tiler came and now all is prepped and ready for the new tiles which are still in Sydney. So we may have to go with industrial chic for a while until they arrive However the courtyard has been pressure cleaned and two of our Superstars Michael and Declan did a great job of sealing it. Thanks Guys, its looking good ARE WE THERE YET? Were getting close!
25.01.2022 Weve invited our Team of Superstars to Gold Class for a movie and dinner tonight, so well be closing early at 4pm so that everyone can come along. We Thank You for your understanding and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause
24.01.2022 Our profound gratitude for all who have given their lives so that we may enjoy the freedoms we have today. "They shall grow not old as we who are left grow old, Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning... We shall remember them." Lest we forget
24.01.2022 Thank you to all, young and young at heart, who took time out from haunting the neighbourhood to come and spend some time with us at Halloween- you all looked fantastic. Thanks to Jakob, John, Rachel and Rob for decorating the café and Vampire Michael for joining in last night We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did and we look forward to seeing you all next year.

22.01.2022 Its so good to see our community feeling able to celebrate birthdays again and were having quite a few. Mary came in with friends today for a very special 98th Birthday thats quite an achievement and I would guess she has a lot of interesting stories to tell. Next year your lunch is on us Mary And at the same time Kevin came in to celebrate his birthday too and its just the best feeling to see people enjoying themselves again,... Then we had this lovely family on Friday. Out for dinner for the first time in a long while to celebrate Kathryns birthday. We wish you all the Happiest of Birthdays and a wonderful year ahead. Thank you for sharing your celebration with us From All The Team at Dome Kingsley
22.01.2022 On Monday 25 May we take our next step on the journey back to being ourselves and we can't wait to welcome you once again But the café will still be a little different. In accordance with the Government regulations we can now serve up to 20 guests for dine in food and drinks and they can sit in the dine in area to enjoy them, as well as have up to 20 customers who prefer to take away, waiting in the take away area. ... Dine in will be on a walk in basis only except for Friday, Saturday and Sunday night when we're taking bookings for dinner from 6pm until 9pm. There will be a dedicated Dining Room Host stationed near the buffet where you can check on table availability and who will give you a table number. You'll then need to take the table number with you to the till when you order. If you can pay by card please do but we are now also accepting cash. We apologise to all our canine customers but as dine in will be inside only, they are going to have to wait a little longer to come back for their doggy treats. While Dome is a place of welcome for all, that is not extended to COVID-19 so we will be doing our very best to keep you safe. We have always had high levels of cleanliness and hygiene included in our staff training but we are taking this up a notch so expect to see the team out and about with their spray bottle and cloths. This is going to take some fancy footwork and a little good will from all to make it run smoothly but knowing our café community as we do, we know it can be done. A huge shout out to the team at head office for all the hard work they have been doing behind the scenes on our behalf and also to our Superstars who have been managing all the changes. Your support throughout this whole journey has been appreciated and we thank you. Thank you also to all our lovely customers who have been coming in for take away during the last week. We have missed you and it was good to see you all again. We really do appreciate your support during these most strange of times and look forward to being able to provide you with the full Dome welcome and dine in experience starting from tomorrow.
22.01.2022 Its been so good to be back this week and see you all again. Weve loved being able to catch up on how youve been going. We really have appreciated your understanding and support in helping to keep to 20 Dine In guests. We Thank those who have given up their table, even though they may have liked to stay a little longer and apologise to those who have had to wait in this freezery weather but thats not going to happen for much longer! Its beginning to look as if not only ...have we beaten COVID in every battle so far, we may just have won the war too and Mr McGowan says next Saturday were going to be able to welcome a lot more of you into the café. We cant wait We do take bookings for Friday, Saturday and Sunday dinner and still have some spots left for tonight, so just give us a call on 9309 5745 if youd like to book one.
22.01.2022 We wish a Very Happy Fathers Day to all our Cafe Community, especially those of you who are fathers. However, for anyone who feels like dinner in a Witches House or a Creepy Graveyard after you’ve finished haunting the neighbourhood we’re open until 9pm tonight.

18.01.2022 Saturday 14th November will see the softening of our hard border with travellers allowed to come in from other states. Up until now, because of the commitment that West Australians have made to doing the right thing we have enjoyed a COVID lifestyle envied by many the world over and have been able to do it in safety. We have won the war in WA and eliminated the virus in our state, except for some arriving travellers and they are safely in quarantine and recovering. So the...Continue reading

18.01.2022 Its Mid Winters Day and another beautiful day in Kingsley. A little bit fresh with a max of 22 deg but no rain and a gentle ENE from behind the cafe. Were now heading towards spring again and the days are beginning to get longer, so to celebrate weve put some tables in the garden so you can sit in the sunshine. Not bad for the middle of winter
18.01.2022 If you thought you recognized a familiar face in the cafe yesterday morning, you were quite right. Liza Harvey, Leader of the Opposition was in the shopping centre yesterday - you may have noticed our courtyard behind her on the TV last night - and she dropped in for a coffee and a chat with Rob Thanks for choosing our cafe Liza, wed love to welcome you back any time you're in the area.
17.01.2022 Our young junior is all grown up We wish you a Very Happy 18th Birthday Joe, hope you have the best day and may the year ahead bring all you are hoping for. From All The Team at Dome Kingsley

16.01.2022 Meet our three new, fully fledged Superstars. Hannah, Monique and Telia. They have now completed their initial 6 months training in the cafe and have become valued members of the team. Hannah is the youngest at just 15 and is in Year 10 at school so not sure yet what comes next. Youll only see her at weekends and during the holidays and when she can find the time, she plays the piano and loves reading! Monique is a little older at 16 and still at Ashdale Secondary Colleg...e. Shes looking forward to studying to become a primary school teacher when she leaves. And again if she can find the time when shes not studying or out there serving you all at the café, she into sports and plays netball. You may not have seen Telia, as shes one of our Kitchen Heroes who makes your food for you. She clearly has a creative side because as well as whipping up a storm in the kitchen she loves painting and mostly murals. She is 18 so no longer at school and wants to become a professional hospitality person so were looking forward to having her at the café for a long time. Were so pleased you chose to come to our café
16.01.2022 A Very Big Thank You to Chris for coming in on a Saturday morning with his crew and not only sanding but finishing the staining of the floor so that we could start the clean up. We really do appreciate that you did this. I think we arent the first Dome he has done this week but hes probably glad we were the last And then our team of Superstars took over the cafe. the plastic sheeting came down, the clean up began and the look on Lizs face says it all. A BIG job. Thank you Team, you truly are the best.
15.01.2022 Cookie come back, were opening up the courtyard on Saturday Phase 3 begins and were so excited to be able to welcome many more of you back into the cafe - from 20 dine in to 100! 15.01.2022 A very big thank you to all our wonderful customers who have absolutely stepped up to the plate and are doing what needs to be done during this time of transition helping us out with the new seating arrangements, sanitising, registering and above all wearing masks. We really do appreciate your support. However, we've found over the weekend that quite a few of our customers aren't sure of the exact equirements for mask wearing in the cafe. The State of Emergency directions... which are in place at the moment do require them to be worn at all times in the café unless eating or drinking, or you fall under one of the very specific exemptions which you can find here https://www.wa.gov.au//2021-01/310121-Face-Covering-Direct So, if you have food or drink in front of you, then you don’t need your mask but at all other times while in the café we would ask you to please keep it on. And if you are one of the very few who may be using a cup of water or an empty coffee cup as an excuse not to wear a mask while seated at the table, please reconsider and help us to make sure that if the virus finds its way into Dome Kingsley it’s not going to have an easy time finding new hosts where it can hide. It’s a very small price to pay for the safety of the community and to maintain the lifestyle we have here in WA. Please don’t be offended if one of our team of super stars reminds you about this - it’s part of their job now. From All The Team at Dome Kingsley

14.01.2022 It's going to be a bit of a drizzly day in Kingsley on Saturday but its going to be a great day at the café were going to Phase 4, next step on the road back We can have 106 in the café instead of 100, so expect a few more tables around, you no longer have to fill in a registration form, colouring sheets and pencils will be available please take the coloured pencils home if you would like to AND the magazines and newspapers will be back Theres the hope of going to P...hase 5 in 3 weeks with all restrictions lifted within WA so please keep up the good work just a little longer. COVID may be contained in quarantine but as weve seen in Victoria this week its just waiting for the opportunity to sneak out and spread itself around before we even know its escaped, so there will be hand sanitiser stations on the buffet, counter and condiment station. Thank you Mr McGowan and Thank You to everyone for getting us here. Its good to be living in Western Australia
14.01.2022 This last week has been one of our best times at Dome Kingsley . Its been wonderful to see so many people coming together again with family and friends and bringing life back into the café. We hope youve enjoyed it as much as we have

Thank you also goes to all who came along to our Fundraiser Music Night, we raised $460 for the Salvation Army Christmas appeal. ...And it was so good that Captain Simone Smalley and 4 of her helpers from the Salvation Army Heathridge Corp and Community Centre were able to come along to collect everything. We had another surprise guest when Jack Le Cras, President of the Wanneroo RSL came in to let us know we has raised $560.80 cents for the RSL -remember the donation cups on the counter on Remembrance Day. So, thank you again to all out incredibly generous customers, you really are the best.
12.01.2022 The music is back but our Friday nights will continue to be a little different for a while. Still a great night but different. We are hopeful of reaching Phase 5 later this month when there will no longer be any need to physically distance but until then, we want to keep you all safe, so there can be no Dancing on a Friday Night inside the cafe. HOWEVER we have a lot of space outside the café and Dancing in the Street or more accurately on the grass, has become the new pl...Continue reading

As we move into Stage 2 and begin to feel safe, its still out there, just waiting to make a comeback as it has done in so many other countries as they began to move out of lock down. But weve already shown it that Australia is not so easily defeated, so lets finish it off and reclaim our way of life. Its been a long time, weve missed you all and we cant wait to welcome you back into the caf tomorrow.

And if youre in the café on the day please enjoy a chocolate from us and dont forget to ask for your complimentary raffle ticket to win a hamper for dad valued at over $100
08.01.2022 Is anyone missing this bike. We found it in the bushes outside the café on the morning after Halloween so we suspect it may have been a trickster who borrowed it. Please give us a call on 9309 5754 if it’s yours and if not please could you spread the word for us, so we can return it to it’s home. All identifying marks have been photoshopped badly so the rightful owner will need to identify the bike.
08.01.2022 We had a Christmas VIP join us on Friday for our Carols By Candlelight. Thank you, Santa, for taking time out of your busy schedule to come along and say Hello. Thank you also goes to Chris & Sherri for another magical night of Christmas music and to everyone who came along and joined in.
08.01.2022 Declan has been looking after you front of house for almost 3 years now but is almost finished his degree and has left us to take up an internship at The Auditor General's Office. They seriously need to get a commercial coffee machine in there now, he’s a great barista. We thank him for all he has done for us and wish him every success in his future career as an accountant. We’re going to miss him a lot From all the team at Dome Kingsley
08.01.2022 Congratulations to Brogan on her promotion to Supervisor. Brogan was with us almost from the start of our cafe but unfortunately for us, left to work closer to home. Thanks for coming back to us Broges, we missed you and it's great to have you back on the team.
08.01.2022 There may not be any newspapers or magazines in the café at the moment were playing extra safe but it doesnt mean those of you in our community who speak German have to miss your complimentary copy of the German language magazine Treff WA every 2 weeks. Just call in and ask one of our team of Superstars and they'll give you one to take home.
07.01.2022 Halloween is coming and our friendly witch has flown in for her yearly sleepover and brought all her ghostie and ghoulie friends along with her, as well as a few things that go bump in the night. Once again, she has cast a decorating spell over Dome Kingsley so that she feels at home and if you have a little bit of magic in you, then you can see what she has done. She just can’t wait to have you come in for dinner and on Halloween we are open until 9.00pm for any intrepid ...Trick or Treaters who would like to have dinner in a very Scary Café after they’ve finished haunting the neighbourhood - it may be a good idea to book your table - and we’ll have treats from 4.30pm for all children who come in, regardless of whether you are buying anything at the cafe or not, just so long as you promise not to trick us. And if you thought Halloween is an American invention, just check out A Short History Of Halloween below. It has been around in one form or another for more than 2000 years! Parental discretion may be advisable as some decorator items could be scary for very young children
06.01.2022 Nicholas came in with mum, dad and brother Thomas to celebrate his birthday and it was lovely to to see the family again. Hope it was a great birthday Nicholas and theres a good year ahead for you Happy Happy Birthday... From All The Team At Dome Kingsley See more
06.01.2022 A huge Thank You to our customers We see you wonderful people still maintaining physical distance in the queue even though the floor stickers are long gone and using the hand sanitiser each time you come through the door we are going through almost 3 litres a week and have a plentiful supply so please keep it up. Could we also please ask, that if you chose a table and there is a table number still on there, to call a team member as this means it has yet to be sanitised aft...er the previous customer. They can then keep you safe by giving the area a thorough clean before you sit down. We are in this enviable position of comparative freedom in WA because of all the efforts you have made but this smallest of destructive things is a silent menace and it thrives on complacency. It just takes 1 COVID to sneak into WA unnoticed and given the chance it will start a cluster. So please keep it up a little while longer, were doing all we can to ensure this persistent little opportunist finds no easy escape into the community here and we really do appreciate your support with this. And just look what happened on Friday night! We may not have Dancing at the Dome on Friday Night at the moment because of physical distancing but we did have Dancing in the Street. Heaps of space to spread out and lots of fresh air. So if you drive past the café next Friday and see people dancing on the grass, now you know whats going on out there. Thanks to Jean Noack for the brilliant idea
05.01.2022 AND WE’RE BACK BUT DIFFERENT :) It’s going to be a bit of a wet and windy day in Kingsley tomorrow but it’s going to be a great day in the café. WE’RE OPEN But for the next 8 days until we can be sure the danger of a silent stowaway coming into the café has gone, Mr McGowan has put us into a transition period with a few extra precautions to keep us all safe . You can check them out at https://www.wa.gov.au//transition-out-of-lockdown-6pm-frid... There may be a few less tables so we have a dining room host at the door to help you find one and take your name on a waitlist so they can call you if you can’t get in straight away. We’re going into overdrive with sanitising so you could see a few signs on tables saying Please Don’t Sit Here that just means it’s waiting to be made safe for you. As always there will be sanitiser for your use on the buffet, the water station and in front of the till and if you’re washing your hands instead, please don’t forget the hippopotamuses... Please don’t be offended if one of our Superstars asks if you’ve checked in, it’s part of their job now and it’s your safety net. They might even be doing you a favour as there are fines of up to $1000 if you forget!! And of course the masks we’re just a little bit looking forward to seeing how many of our café community we can recognise and who’s wearing which colour today! You can take them off when you need to eat and drink but they need to be worn for the rest of the time in the café and I’ve already found out that it doesn’t stop me from talking at all. We’re looking forward to having you back. Stay safe
05.01.2022 There may not be any newspapers or magazines in the caf at the moment were playing extra safe but it doesnt mean those of you in our community who speak German have to miss your complimentary copy of the German language magazine Treff WA every 2 weeks. 04.01.2022 Welcome back to our Saturday morning cyclists from the Woodvale Group Ride. Weve missed you!
04.01.2022 Jenni and Nicolas took part in a swimming completion a little while ago and just look at this! Jenni took three second places in the Masters Freestyle 50m, Freestyle 100m and Breaststroke 50m. Nicholas competed in Masters Backstrke 50m Breaststroke 50m Freestyle both 50m and 100m and took out first place in the Individual Medley 75m. AND Jenni said she hadn’t even had time to practise!... Well done and Congratulations to you both. From All The Team at Dome Kingsley
04.01.2022 The music is back but our Friday nights will be a little different for a while. Still a great night but different. Until we reach Phase 5 and there is no longer any need to physically distance, there will be no Dancing on a Friday Night. We want to keep you all safe, so there will also be less tables in the café and of course hand sanitiser on the buffet, condiment station and at the till for your use. COVID is such a silent sneaky little thing that you never know where ...Continue reading

02.01.2022 Saturday 5th December marked the start of the WA Government’s requirement for us to maintain a Mandatory Contact Register for the purpose of Department of Health contact tracing and we thank all of you who came into the café today for your co-operation and support. We now have the legal obligation to provide the means for you to record your personal contact details, arrival time and date each time you come into the café and each person aged 16 years or over is by law required... to do this. Failure to provide this on our part incurs a fine for us of up to $250,000 and for the customer who fails to comply a fine of up to $50,000 ouch! This has been reintroduced to ensure that should a COVID stowaway sneak into WA, all is in place for rapid contact tracing to stop it in it’s tracks before it has the chance to spread itself around. And should it somehow manage to find its way into our café community you can be notified as quickly as possible and take action to protect yourself, family and friends. To make it easier this time we have QR codes at multiple points throughout the café and for those of you who like me, are not so very tech savvy and with apologies to those who are - that’s the black and white patterned squares you will see on the buffet, in front of the till and on the menu box on each table. These patterns are the QR code and will now be in multiple venues throughout WA. Those in our café are unique to Dome Kingsley. To be able to use them you need to have the SafeWA app love that word on your smartphone and then you simply open up the app, show the phone the black and white square and the phone will do your registration for you. If you don’t have the app, there is an information leaflet on the buffet explaining how to put it onto your phone or just ask one of our Superstars and they will be happy to assist. If you don’t have a smartphone you can check that one with our Superstars too so can’t download the app but someone with you has it, they can use theirs to register you. If these are not options for you, just ask at the counter for a Registration Form, fill it out and hand it in at the counter before you leave. These will be kept in a sealed envelope in the safe. WA has had no community transmission for the longest time and we have enjoyed security and freedoms during 2020 unlike almost everywhere else in the world and that’s because we all just did what needed to be done. We once again ask for your support during this next battle with COVID, to try to keep our borders open and our café community safe. From all the Team at Dome Kingsley

They are most in need of Breakfast cereal Tinned food ie veggies, fruit, spaghetti, baked beans, tuna, soup Rice, pasta, two minute noodles Tea, coffee, milo, long life milk Christmas cakes & puddings, long-life custard Chips, biscuits, lollies and chocolates We'll be collecting until our Fundraising Music Night on Friday 11th December, when we will hand over the gift from our cafe community in time for them to pack and distribute the following week.
