24.01.2022 Celebrating 10 years with Dome. I remember clearly going for my interview back in April 2010 with the lady next to me (her hair was red then, hence the nickname Red). We got on well at my interview and I knew then, I got the job and found my work home. Reds interview skill was so good that I felt I was talking to a friend. That was the first skill I learn. My family can tell you, I am never one to stay in one job for more than 2 years, but at Dme, I do feel that I belong. L...ike a family, we have our opinions and dont always agree with our parents (HeadOffice). But I am so much richer from the skills I learned and watched from my CEO and the team at Dme HQ. I had so many good memories from my time as cafe manager at Dme Westend, Scarborough and Maylands. And I really grew when I was at Maylands. That priceless experience and skill at Dme Maylands set me up for my next move - opening up Dme Osborne Park. Not many people can say they love what they do, the company and the place they spend the majority of their time in. I am lucky to have been given the opportunity to lead a cafe and work with a wonderful bunch of people who taught me a thing or two as well - Lesley, Claire, Rhiannon, Kate, Eleanor, Bidhya, Joshua, Janet, Eunice, Steve, Betty, Candy, Ken , Kenan, Susan, Arun, Jason, Shannia, Andy, Bailey and Jamie. I am now moving into my next phase of work life with my new team, who are hitting the high marks of working at Dme Osborne Park. 21.01.2022 Chubby, bald and always smiling, hes your Buddha bubba bringing joy to all he encounters. Through his gurgles and giggles, he reminds you to laugh everyday. This small person has taught you to stop sweating the small stuff. When you take the time to see the world through his eyes, you discover wonder everywhere. Who knew sugar packets were really tiny maracas? And serviettes! Theres at least ten minutes of entertainment in each one. For sitting in awe of your little creation, theres no place like Dme.

20.01.2022 11:30am Friday. He always jokes, I told you I loved you on our wedding day. If anything changes, Ill let you know. While hes a man of few words, especially when it comes to his feelings, he communicates how much he cherishes you every day, in a hundred little ways. Its being greeted by a steaming mug of tea when you wake up; refilling your car when the tank runs low; making sure your garden secateurs are always sharp. Its not the stuff of Hallmark cards but it declares you are his everything. For your 3984th date, theres no place like Dme.

19.01.2022 Today is a very different Mothers Day for many of us everywhere. I know if I walk into any Dome cafes last year, I can hear and feel the joy of families celebrating with their mums. But I bet if I knocked on my neighbours door, she will be having (or had) breakfast cooked by her young teenage daughter. Small celebration, but the feeling is the same. Happy Mothers Day.

When you started counting your blessings, you were overwhelmed by how many you had. Today you received good news. Not the pop-the-champagne-woo-hoo kind of news, but still worthy of being celebrated and grateful for; the kind of news that means this will be remembered as a happy day. 06.01.2022 Its been 5 weeks since I last saw my team, so it was nice to catch up with Jamie Cosgrove, Bailey Cavanagh, Tayla and Davy to see how they are doing and feeling. Catching up with friends and family is important, and I have always considered my team more than employees. Naturally when the public gathering restrictions was lifted, we caught up to support each other in this unusual times. The change of scenery is always good for the soul. It is no surprise that we all have put ...on some weight but are more relax as well. It was also nice to see some of our guests walking pass and saying Hi, with the common question When are we opening? To keep us healthy, Davy gave us some navel oranges and mandarins from her beautiful garden. Thats fruit shopping done for this week. Hopefully, in the not too distant future, we will see everyone. 02.01.2022 We are working on our COVID Safe plan now that the Government has released the details. The decision to open just to make money lost, is not the be all and end all for me. We are determined to make the cafe safe for all our guests and team members, hence we will need more time to get the cafe right for our dine in guests.
