04.01.2022 And yet westerners make a bigger deal about this gender divide than people I know in the developing world. Where there is intense economic struggle everyone has to pull in together & they do. Not to negate empowerment of women but for ALL people struggling in the developing world gender is not the key issue. It is capitalism & imperialism. Exploitation of the most vulnerable. Lots of women employed at terrible rates because they can be more extremely exploited & repressed while millikns of men can not even get work so experience shame & dependency & hopelessness. A minimum income for all the world funded by a tax on corporations & the 1% is the only solution. Not just empowering women.
