14.01.2022 My rediscovery of the guitar continues with this incredible Musicman BFR JP6 (John Petrucci Signature Model) that I borrowed from Tourbus Entertainment (www.tourbusentertainment.com.au). The guitar took me right back to being a kid, practicing ALL day & night, even to the point where, now it's the day after, the tips of my left-hand fingers are STILL BURNING!!! It's been a very long time since I've pursued this kind of guitar playing and, as usual, my ideas are more advanced ...than my ability but I'm enjoying the combined challenges of composing instrumental music, editing video & mixing audio. 11.01.2022 I guess we all feel lost from time-to-time... Some of us write songs about it :-) ANYWHERE BUT HERE DOM ITALIANO 37 of 52 ... So, I sold my guitar, almost gave it away I don’t write anymore, got nothing to say I guess, my hands never knew what they wanted to be Maybe they did, and they just kept it from me So, I boarded on a plane, and it took me to her If you’re gonna make a mistake, make the one you prefer I thought my heart should’ve known what it needed to do I guess it followed my hands kept that hidden too And I never thought that I deserved the benefit of doubt Maybe that’s why I’m so good at giving up and getting out You don’t ever face the music, you don’t ever face a fear When you’re always trying to get to anywhere but here So, it didn’t take long, I was invited to leave I still acted surprised; wore the shock on my sleeve She thought she deserved more, but that wasn’t true At least I keep my mouth shut my, when it’s the right thing to do But, if you don’t know why you’re hurting you take it out on everyone And you look for consolation in the things you haven’t done You don’t know your destination, & the path is never clear When you’re always trying to get to anywhere but here It seems the people that complain the most, never take advice They don’t understand the difference between the cost and the price I you fall enough you learn to hate the balance that you lack You don’t trust your own reflection, once they see who’s looking back When you leave in the dark, you don’t really look back But you feel the weight of regret, the lighter you pack For a fool there is strength being misunderstood I guess we all carry more than we think that we should When you only chase the high, there’s no depths that you won’t sink You can lead a man to knowledge, but you cannot make him think You can listen to direction, but you’re compass will not hear When you’re always trying to get to anywhere but here

It's not something that gets spoken about, particularly between men. And, so, we thought it was important to share the song and not keep it to ourslves. 05.01.2022 I LOVE GUITARS!!! But, I haven't really composed any instrumental guitar music before... I recently spoke to some music shops about featuring their guitars in my upcoming music/song videos and as soon as I got this one home from Tourbus Entertainment the other day, it became evident that I'd have to write a song with it, outlining some of the different things it could do. It's a 'demo video' in the sense that 'these are the kinds of sounds this guitar can make'... No singing ...in this one, just widdly-widdly ;-) For those who don't know, it's the Sterling by Music Man James Valentine signature model guitar. He's the Guitarist in Maroon 5. I quite like it... there's a a very nice blue one I'd like to buy... one day!! 03.01.2022 ** I realise I posted the YouTube link to this but didn't upload it to FB... sooooo.... Now I have ;-) So, about a year ago I spoke to Deniel @ www.tourbusentertainment.com.au about getting one of these... It's EXACTLY what I want in a gigging guitar... At the time I was doing 6-8 gigs a week and if this guitar had only taken a few weeks to come into the shop, it would 100% be mine now... But, y'know, I live in Melbourne Australia & COVID took all my gigs (and savings)... so ...even if I could afford it... I STILL have nowhere to play it... yet! Anyway, as someone who has played 'acoustic' gigs with a Tele that has a piezo bridge for many years now, I've wanted a Strat-style guitar with a piezo for a long time... To be honest, this guitar has the best neck I've ever played, the pickup options are super versatile too and the +20db boost circuit is so very cool: it's like having a boost pedal built into the guitar. One day I'll have one! Anyway, you should buy this guitar if you're a gigging muso: particularly if you're like me... A guitarist at heart, that happens to get gigs because you can sing a bit, but also wants to play some solos at the gig without having to listen to the crappy sound of an acoustic guitar through a boost/compressor pedal!
