25.01.2022 At Don Crosby Vets Don offers acupuncture and gold beading which is known for the treatment of arthritis and provides great pain relief. Don has been acupuncturing animals since he obtained his IVAS accreditation in 1997. His popular interests are treating horses with sore backs and lameness aswell as treating pain and spinal disease in small animals. Forms of acupuncture include:... Dry Needling - This is the form most people are familiar with. When performing this technique, Specific points are chosen depending on the condition and gives strong short term pain relief aswell as relieving muscle spasms. This technique is useful for horses with sore backs. Electroacupuncture - this involves dry needling and then applying a current across the needles using a specific piece of equipment designed for this. This technique is particularly useful when nerves have been damaged. Don uses this technique when treating disc disease and spinal paralysis in dogs. Gold Beading - this is a form of acupuncture that is particularly exciting. It involves the placement of small pieces of gold bullion (24 carat gold) into certain acupuncture points around arthritic joints. This results in a continual low level of pain relief that is drug free. Don has had some outstanding success in using this technique to treat dogs with arthritic joint pain. It is especially useful in treating dogs with hip dysplasia.

22.01.2022 ‘Winter is fast approaching’ To kick things off (because prevention is better then cure) we have decided to run a competition. By providing your pet with supplements and taking certain measures to provide extra support you can help them live a much happier, longer life.... During the cooler months our senior pets seem to suffer more which is most commonly due to osteoarthritis, Being overweight can also cause extra stress on joints. They may seem to be having trouble getting around, less willing to exercise or just not their general happy self. To win the winter give away which will contain goodies for your dog or horse all you need to do is: Hit like, share the post and publish in comments a photo of your furry friend in their best winter attire or how they keep snuggly warm during winter. Competition Closes 10/6/2020 Check out the fun packs up for grabs below!

19.01.2022 Dental month is fast approaching!!! For the month of august we will be offering free nurse dental checks! We will also be offering discounts on scaling and polishing if it is required! Your pets mouth is a very important factor when keeping them healthy and sometimes they can have issues hiding away without showing any signs. Some factors which may indicate dental disease include: - Smelly breath... - Reluctant to chew certain food - Excessive drooling Just like us, our furry friends can develop dental disease which consists of build up of plaque on the teeth. This can lead to gum erosion and tooth decay and eventually cause extreme pain and lead to extraction. Prevention is definetly Better than cure! If you would like your furry friends teeth checked out please contact our clinic on 6885 5544 to arrange an appointment See more
