11.01.2022 URBNSURF Melbourne, Australia’s first purpose-built surf park, was officially opened to the public yesterday. DCWC was engaged by Melbourne Airport to provide Project Management services for the landlord infrastructure works supporting the landmark project, including recycled water supply, drainage, high voltage electrical connections and two new substations. Located adjacent to Melbourne Airport, the artificial lagoon is capable of producing up to 1,000 waves an hour and up to 18 different wave types. As a water sports facility, URBNSURF was conscious of its environmental responsibility, utilising a combination of sustainable measures for the construction and operation of the facility.

06.01.2022 Ground was broken at the Taxiway Zulu site yesterday, with the sod turning ceremony taking place yesterday morning. DCWC is thrilled to be providing Project Management Services for Melbourne Airports significant $300M taxiway expansion. As the largest single airfield investment for the airport since its opening in 1970, the new taxiway network will provide valuable additional space for aircraft traffic, improving the efficiency of movements on the ground as well as supporting the growth in Melbournes international connectivity.

05.01.2022 Andrea Formella, DCWC Project Manager, is the proud lead of the Women in Design and Construction mentoring program in Sydney, with the 2019 program being launched this month. WIDAC had over 60 participants from construction, design and property for this intake, including some of our DCWC staff who also participate as mentors. This is one of WIDACs biggest mentoring programs for women in the industry. DCWC is proud of our affiliation with WIDAC and we look forward to continuing to strengthen this important relationship.

01.01.2022 Fortitude Valley State Secondary College, Queenslands first vertical school, opened its doors to Year 7 students earlier this week. DCWC is proud to have been engaged by the Queensland Department of Education to provide Project Management, Quantity Surveying and Programming services for this innovative and unique school. The school will eventually house about 1500 students by 2025 with the first 140 foundation students starting school this week.
