18.01.2022 This morning CFA brigades worked with CFA's specialist mine rescue crews to help an unlucky horse who had fallen into a well. Rescue crews used their expertise... to rig up a sling to safely lift the horse out of the well, where it was then treated by a vet for minor injuries. The rescue had support from the RSPCA and FRV. Despite the deep trouble the horse found itself in, we've been told it's doing well

14.01.2022 REQUEST TO STOP HARVEST THIS AFTERNOON CFA District 18, Acting Assistant Chief Fire Officer (ACFO) Rob McNally has asked farmers in the Mildura, Buloke and Swa...n Hill Shire areas and the Northern part of Yarriambiack Shire to refrain from harvesting between 1pm and 7pm today 27/11/20 and Saturday 28/11/20. He said today and Saturday would see fire danger ratings of very high and severe across these areas and harvesting in these conditions would bring with it a risk of damage to headers and crops. "We've had a number of fires started from headers during harvest, and a number of haystack fires," he said. "Tomorrow is going to be just as hot if not hotter, but we've got a cool change coming through with a south westerly, which will increase our fire risk. "We also ask that farmers refrain from conducting harvesting work between 1pm and 7pm on Saturday and monitor your haystack temperatures. If a fire starts, the wind will change the direction of the fire. Cooperation from our farmers in the District to help prevent fires is greatly appreciated.

13.01.2022 NON STRUCTURE FIRE - DONALD Call out: Saturday 31st October @ 11:25am Late this morning Donald Fire Brigade responded to a telehandler that had been semi-involved in flames. Thankfully the fire was quickly quelled by the use of nearby fire extinguishers by the time the brigade arrived. ... The exact cause of the fire is unknown and not deemed suspicious. This mornings incident shows that it pays to keep extinguishers up to date and maintained which is a serviced provided to local businesses through local CFA brigades. The damage caused could have been much greater without working extinguishers! Always keep up to date with nearby fires and weather conditions with the Vic Emergency App. Always call 000 in an emergency.

13.01.2022 STRUCTURE FIRE - DONALD UPDATE: This fire has now been extinguished and is safe. Call out: Sunday 8th November @ 12:13... There is currently a container on fire at a property on Racecourse Rd Donald. A small amount of grassed area was also burnt. Crews have the fire contained to the shipping container but may it take some time before the contents can be fully extinguished. Smoke may be visible for several hours. This fire is currently being monitored. Please keep up to date with nearby fires and weather conditions with the Vic Emergency App. Always call 000 in an emergency.
