24.01.2022 We love this. Two homeless people having just received a place to stay get to have large flat-screen T.V.s. There's no way they could normally afford this luxury. Many thanks to the generous donors who donated their T.Vs and to Handled with Care who helped make this happen.

24.01.2022 We love our job! This week, our kind and generous client wanted to donate as much as possible from the estate of her late mother to help those less fortunate. ... With the assistance of DonateDirect, Handled with Care coordinated the re-homing of 100s of items directly to individuals being supported by these wonderful welfare agencies and charities: Family Life Lighthouse Foundation Launch Housing Sacred Heart Mission Youth Projects cohealth Diabetes Victoria. Our client couldn't be happier knowing that her late mother was able to leave such a legacy, that has helped so many people and families. We feel privileged to be able to make this happen.

22.01.2022 A young refugee woman recently had her mobile stolen and laptop destroyed by an abusive ex partner. With the help of a generous donor, we've been able to provide her with a laptop and mobile so she can pursue education and employment in Australia. This donation will turn her life around!

21.01.2022 A homeless man has just moved into a vacant property in Reservoir and we were happy to be able to help him furnish his new home with a fridge, table and chairs. Thanks to our donors this man is more equipped to start the next chapter of his life!

20.01.2022 We have just learned of a homeless indigenous woman settling into a small bedsit that has very old carpets that wont be able replaced. She has been sleeping rough for a year and this is the first opportunity she has for stable housing as well as the opportunity to be reunified with her children. It would be great if she could obtain one or two rugs to cover the carpet and make her home more livable for her and her children. 19.01.2022 Thanks to a donor in Elwood, a young single mum has just been provided with a lounge suite to help set up her new home.

18.01.2022 A big thanks to everyone who has donated their lounge suites through DonateDirect when they move or upgrade their furniture. The couches have all gone to homeless or severely disadvantaged people - people who had nothing to furnish their homes. These donations have been greatly appreciated and well-used.

13.01.2022 A big thank you to everyone who has been donating your pre-loved linen and towels! Much of the linen has gone to women in crisis accommodation who have escaped violence or other difficult circumstances. Many have had to leave all their belongings behind and start again with nothing. It means a lot to them to give them something that so many of us just take for granted - like a simple doona set!

DonateDirect has had heaps of requests for T.V.s, mostly for homeless people who get given accommodation but have nothing to put in it. If you have a T.V. in good working order and wish to donate it we will help get it off your hands.- and you will make someone very happy!!

12.01.2022 A common story. A homeless man previously living on the streets is lucky enough to get a more permanent place to live through the Office of Housing. The problem? He has nothing to put in his new place. We are getting more and more requests for FRIDGES, WASHING MACHINES, and other whites. If you are renovating, upgrading, or moving out and have white goods you no longer need (and they are in good working order!) please contact us at [email protected].

11.01.2022 A donor has just donated two queen sized beds she no longer needed. The beds went to two men who have both been sleeping rough for over a year and needless to say, they are incredibly happy to have the beds!

10.01.2022 How grateful are the recipients of all of our donations? A homeless young person wrote to us - "I want to say thank you for your support. It really help me because I'm new in my new place and I had no fridge" And from the charity that helped organize it - "Thank you for the kind donation of the fridge freezer. My young person had just recently transitioned into independent living so this has been a great help in setting up his new place to turn it into a home"

10.01.2022 This is today's story. A young mum with a 1 year old daughter has been couch surfing for the last 6 months. She is applying for her own rental property but du...e to family violence she has lost the contents of her previous home. She has to start fresh with absolutely nothing. 10.01.2022 Desperately seeking some mattresses!! A family with 7 children has recently been severely affected by black mould throughout their home. They have had to throw out all mattresses and furniture. Both parents are unemployed and have had health probems due to the mould in their home. The youngest, a 3 month old, has been in and out of hospital following an episode in an induced coma. This family is very disadvantaged and desperately needs several single mattresses and a king mattress. Let us know if you have one you can donate by emailing us at [email protected].

These instruments will go directly to people in need - to young people who are engaged in the homelessness service system, looked after by @HopeStreet Youth and Family Services. These youth play musical instruments to improve their mental state and well being, but can't afford to buy them. Thanks to Bows for Strings these instruments will make a real difference to improving the quality of life of these young people struggling with their own difficult circumstances. 05.01.2022 Today we learned of a single mother with three children ranging from 5 to 12 years of age. They are currently living in crisis accommodation in a small, humid, poorly ventilated two-room place with no air conditioning. If anyone would like to donate a portable fan or air-conditioner they no longer need, it would go to keeping this family cool this summer. www.donatedirect.org.au

You can donate your computer to a disadvantaged person who can use it to help with their studies or obtain employment. 02.01.2022 A wonderful donor donated almost her whole apartment as she moved interstate. The grateful recipient had been homeless for six years, where she experienced periods of sleeping rough. Her case workers found her an apartment to move into and with the help of this kind donor, the woman has been able to furnish her entire new home.
