20.01.2022 Gate Repairs. Many things fail on gates from the framing, the hinges or the posts. In this case the post had rotted out and needed to be replaced, whilst the gate was still serviceable. I installed an additional post for added strength, all H4 treated pine and concreted in. Guaranteed not to sag!... Done Once Done Right. See more

17.01.2022 New Floor! Out with an old and drab carpet and in with a shiny new Spotted Gum Vinyl floorboards. These are fantastic - easy care, easy clean, providing both thermal and acoustic shielding. They never rot, are impervious to termites and wont warp or rot. The before and after shot shows what a difference it makes.

13.01.2022 Sometimes parts are no longer available. In this case one of a pair of hanging rollers for a sliding fly screen door had failed and the equivalent part had ceased being produced in 2015. The solution was to build a new roller. The old part is nylon, the new and stronger part I built is cast in metal. Now the fly screen works perfectly again!... Done Once Done Right. See more

13.01.2022 Yard cleanup after a storm. This house had several large branches come down in a storm a number of months ago making it impossible to use the yard or mow the grass. All fixed now! Done once done right.

13.01.2022 Cornice repairs. Fortunately the existing cornice had not snapped off so this piece could be reattached and glued back on. Once the cement drys a coat of paint and good as news. Done Once Done Right

11.01.2022 IKEA Hacks! For this job IKEA Pax wardrobes were used but instead of matching the doors with the standard size the client wanted to have taller doors to conceal space above the wardrobe. This meant the taller door required a new hinge to be fitted lower down where it could attached to the inside frame of the shell of the wardrobe. Overall the effect was very pleasing. The hinges fittings were made using a Kreg 35mm hinge jig - fantastic tool which did a great job!

11.01.2022 Tiles falling from the kitchen wall :( In this case 2 rows of tiles were removed, the surfaces cleaned up and then reattached using a flexible bonding agent to ensure this doesn't happen again. After re-grouting it's as good as new! Done Once Done Right.

11.01.2022 Long sunny days and solar power go well together - dirty panels covered in lichen are not so good - especially when you are running the air conditioner. Before and after shots tell the story... Done Once, Done Right

09.01.2022 Cleanup of this rotten structure at the side of the house covering the hot water heater. Done Once Done Right!

08.01.2022 Colorbond Steel Fence remodelling. A large gum tree has grown next to this fence and was lifting it causing it to distort. The solution was to dismantle this section and rebuild around the tree. Each new set of posts is concreted into the ground and the materials are perfectly matched - all done in a day! Done Once Done Right!

05.01.2022 This is an interesting job I have been working on from time to time over the last few weeks. My client wanted to transform his apartment from the standard white walls to something a little more rustic and challenging. He decided on a brick look with galvanised iron pipe lighting and asked me to do the fit out. The wall is comprised of 'Texture Panels' with a red brick appearance. Each panel needed to be measure and cut before screwing and gluing to the wall. Following this any joints were filled with a caulking to match the render.

04.01.2022 Sliding doors working smoothly? If not then it could be several reasons including failed wheels as was the case here. Most of the work involves removing the doors to replace the wheels. The tracks need to be cleaned and smoothed, all wheels checked, lubricated and adjusted. Now the doors slide smoothly with just the push of a finger!... Done Once Done Right. See more

03.01.2022 A small fencing job completed in Gladesville today. Aluminium fence made onsite with horizontal slats and set at 3 levels to provide visibility for cars exiting the driveway but also some screening from the transformer next to the property.

02.01.2022 Kitchen Bench Refresh. This bench had an old, dark laminate with damage spots. The bench was sanded down and coated with specialist paints that provide a durable heat and chemical resistant surface especially formulated for kitchens. A big improvement without the hassle of replacing the entire counter top and all of the flow on effects.
