22.01.2022 SEMINAR ON DONKEY MATTERS..... BECAUSE DONKEYS MATTER!! A successful weekend was had here in the Hunter Valley at the Donkey Matters Seminar 2020!! With all states and territories, sans the Northern Territory, represented at this event, with over 85 attendees over two days, we were delighted at the love and support shown in the name of donkeys. ... On the Saturday, an informative and eye opening lecture was given by Donkey Welfare With Heart's honorary vet, Dr Gelderman, with topics such as diet, the differences between a horse and a donkey, the hoof and dental diseases, to name a few! Any and all questions that the donkey owners, prospective owners and enthusiasts had were answered as well. On the Sunday, in the field experience was had at the Donkey Welfare with Heart HQ, The Heartland. The Hunter Valley Donkey Team at DWWH led hands-on demonstrations on weighing and worming a donkey, how to approach a donkey, leading a donkey, how to pick up and file a donkey's hooves, and address common ailments in the feet. We also had by popular demand, how to load a donkey onto a float, snigging and long reining. These are some of the activities had that day! A big cheer and a thank you to Tocal Agricultural College for hosting us on the Saturday, to Dr Gelderman for his precious time and expertise, to Horseland Maitland for the raffle prizes. Last, but most importantly NOT least, to all the volunteers who cooked, cleaned, set up and made this Donkey Matters Seminar 2020 the fabulous weekend that it was!! All the donkey love Co-organiser Caylin

20.01.2022 The demands on DWWH continue. We are helping to relocate dogs, horses and donkeys as their desperate owners call for assistance. Here is the up to the minute donkey rescue - Now we have 20 more animals housed and fed. Please donate to help them. It’s almost Christmas
