25.01.2022 Colour Therapy.... naming it that, as being immersed in these favourite colours for the five hours it has taken to paint this has been nourishment for my soul. It’s acrylic on paper, 20.5 cm square. As with all my work, it is for sale. $75 plus postage. If you would like one of my geometric paintings in the colours that make your soul sing, message me.
25.01.2022 Isolation Interior no. 8: The Stash A good friend suggested my series wouldn’t be complete without this. I think she’s right, so here it is. Acrylic and ink on canvas, 20 x 20 cm.
22.01.2022 Making Soup, fourth in my series of isolation interiors. 30 x 40 cm, acrylic and ink on canvas.
17.01.2022 Day One of an art challenge I’m doing this week (I’m a day behind!) Not sure what to call this piece... Any suggestions? It’s acrylic and collage on paper. A3, just $75 if you can see it on your wall. Actually, I might call it Authenticity (that was my answer to a question posed in the challenge). SOLD

16.01.2022 Just finished Catching some morning sun (No. 3 in my Isolation Interiors! ). 30x30cm, Acrylic and ink on canvas.
13.01.2022 Gaia’s Gift... Acrylic on canvas, 50.8 x 76.2cm. This is an exercise I set for my class, to create a composition by combining 3 or more images from a selection of photos. The images I chose as inspiration are below (all copyright free from Pixabay). I have always loved the new growth that comes after a bushfire... it is deeply personal too, as my father lost his life fighting a bushfire.
10.01.2022 And so another Covid interior begins!
09.01.2022 Nothing quite excites me as much as a tidied up studio ready to work in!!!
09.01.2022 Just completed this painting... the request was for a Raven with a pearl in its beak, sitting in a wattle tree. It’s new owner loves it! Thanks Bahar I can paint anything you want... $75 for A4, plus postage. This special is only till Christmas then my price will have to go up.
08.01.2022 Day Two of my art challenge with Nicholas Wilton. Exploring what made our hearts sing in our childhood... I used to go to private art lessons with a wonderful artist and teacher Alison (Fiona Craig). She entered our work in statewide competitions and I was a finalist in shows three times. One was called The Hall of Life... sponsored by the Aust Museum and the SMH. I received a letter from an art dealer in Wahroonga wanting to know if my painting was for sale. So I made my fir...st sale! I think I was about eleven. I tried to recreate what I remembered of that painting (I have no photo). My original painting was much freer and the girl was a lot sadder... I always gave my faces big eyes back then too. It’s funny I tried to make her mouth look sad but it wasn’t happening! As soon as I gave her a pensive smile it felt right. This is A4, acrylic. Happy to sell for $75 if you happen to love it. See more
08.01.2022 I have just bought two paintings from my dear friend Lin Stanton. They were destined for her upcoming exhibition at the Old Firestation but I had to have them!! I absolutely love them Lin. Visitors to the exhibition will be spoilt for choice with over 60 of her works to choose from. (Details soon)
08.01.2022 I just did a small study ... In Monet’s Garden from a photo by a friend fortunate enough to have visited it. To stay in touch with my class I have set up a FB group and slowly but surely they are joining and partaking. I have set a class challenge to paint something that is not what or how we would normally work...and to research an artist who did paint in that style. So I chose Impressionism as it is loose and fast, not detailed as I normally do. I spent only an hour (it’s only 10 square). I think I might do it again but this time in MY style and see how different it looks. Reference pic and WIPs in comments.
07.01.2022 Finished! Fifth in my series of Isolation Interiors. This one shows my dining room as it looks when I’m painting. Misty is chatting with our friendly butcher bird and the painting on the easel is Walk of Life (inspired by Dire Strait’s Song). My friend Lin Stanton’s painting leans against the mirror. I have a big piece of vinyl under the easel to catch my drips! It’s 30 x 40cms, acrylic and ink on canvas.
07.01.2022 Treaty, inspired by Yothu Yindi’s song and celebrating the colours of Australia and the ban on climbing Uluru...currently showing in the RAS Member’s Exhibition at the Old Firestation Gallery, Redcliffe. (50x60cms, acrylic on canvas $790)
06.01.2022 Time for a cuppa, acrylic and ink on canvas, 41 x 31 cms. I might still do a little tweaking in the coming days, but it’s pretty much done. This area of my courtyard is actually under a shade canopy but it is not so pretty to look at so I left it out. My plants have thrived since getting some relief under it from our long hot summers!
06.01.2022 This is the complete Isolation Interiors series so far. There may yet be more! Thank you for your interest... I have been overwhelmed at the positive response to these works. Please feel free to share. I will exhibit them next April unless purchased beforehand. I would prefer to sell them as a collection. They are all acrylic and ink on canvas. The largest being 30 x 40 cm and the smallest, 20 x 20 cm.
05.01.2022 Waratahs in the Blue Mountains... acrylic on canvas paper, A4. A commission for CarolynDavid Essex. Photographic references with kind permission of Doug Beckers Photographer. Free to take orders now for Christmas. I’m offering these A4 pieces for just $75 plus postage. After Christmas I will have to lift my prices...so get in fast. I can paint any subject matter you want
04.01.2022 Hope 50 x 60 cms. Inspired by the concerto by Mozart Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and paying homage to Mondrian. It’s a bit different to my usual style but I enjoyed the challenge. I had intended to keep layering but my gut instinct tells me to stop...I like it’s bold simplicity. I think it would sit nicely amongst modern minimalist decor or even retro. What do you think?
04.01.2022 I just realised that I have directed people here to see all the paintings in this series, and two were missing! Sincere apologies!
04.01.2022 Extremely proud that two of my students and another who is joining my class (currently in my class’s FB group) have won prizes in the current Redcliffe Art Society Members’ Exhibition (novice section). Congratulations to Joyce Hollindale (1st), Kathryn Claire (2nd) and Christine Charlesworth (3rd).
04.01.2022 Worked all day to get this finished! Washing Day, 30.5 x 30.5 cm, acrylic and ink on canvas.
03.01.2022 Just finished changes to one of my paintings. Had to sit with it a few weeks to decide what my conclusion was to be. Hope, acrylic on canvas, 50 x 60 cms. Inspired by Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (a little night music) and Mondrian’s wonderful geometric designs. How it was before resolution is in comments below...
02.01.2022 I will have three works in this exhibition celebrating the reopening of our gallery in July... it will be exciting to see all the awesome tutors at Redcliffe Art Society showcasing their work. Two of the paintings I will show were part of a class challenge I set for my students during isolation. The Old Firestation Gallery is open 10.00 - 3.00 Wed - Sun.
01.01.2022 I saw the latest Redcliffe Art Society’s exhibition today...it’s a wonderful show! Thrilled to see so many of my students showing their work and very proud that three of them were rewarded with 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes.
01.01.2022 Never far away...
