17.01.2022 So, it seems July did not get the memo to sit down and behave and now many Victorians find themselves back in lockdown. It’s not where we hoped to be so now more than ever we ALL need to do the right thing. I’d just come to terms with the fact that we won’t be travelling internationally for some time but the reality that even domestic travel is now out of reach is devastating. I implore everyone, whether you’re in metro or regional Victoria or even interstate to please stay h...ome, if we take the attitude that this is only affecting a small part of our country & don’t all adhere to the rules there’s no doubt, before we know it we will be right back where we started or worse. I know it’s not easy & we’re all craving normality but for the lives & livelihoods of those you love, those in your immediate community and for Aussies far & wide please be sensible and do the right thing. I am still working through cancelling my clients bookings and although I’m now focusing on September & October departures I’m still juggling the many balls I have in the air that are yet to be finalised for earlier departures so thank you to those clients for their continued patience. 12.01.2022 **Flashback to 1999, my first year in the travel industry ** I can honestly say that if someone could have predicted back then that over the years I’d have to navigate helping my clients through everything from ash clouds, natural disasters, terrorism, airlines collapsing and now the biggest challenge our industry has faced, Covid-19, I’d have still chosen this as my lifelong career. It’s certainly been an extremely trying time & I’ve had my struggles but when I remind ...myself of the enormous list of positives & opportunities I’ve been afforded the good outweighs the bad by miles! The beautiful lifelong friends I’ve made, the wonderful clients I’ve met & the relationships I’ve built with them over the years, the amazing places I’ve been fortunate enough to explore & the many adventures I’ve shared & the memories I’ve made with my family. The little bumps & big pot holes along the way we’re all road blocks that we survived and with my new, more positive mindset I know, even though we still have a long road ahead I can and will come out stronger after this landslide. 11.01.2022 Today my family & I along with my sister & her family were supposed to be on a flight to the USA for a trip of a lifetime, 9 nights in New York for Christmas then a week in Orlando at Disney World to see in the New Year.....but, thanks to COVID & like all of my clients trips this year, it wasn’t meant to be. Instead today I worked a shift at an Ocean Grove institution, The Piping Hot Chicken & Burger Grill . I’ve been so fortunate for the past 6 months, while the travel ind...ustry has been in hibernation, to have had the opportunity to work with Tami & the team. I’ve been doing approximately 20 hours per week.
