16.01.2022 Kindness! Without the kindness of generous women who donate their eggs - I, along with thousands and thousands of women would not get to experience motherhood! We found a kind lady, an angel, you know and she had the egg that would help you to grow. ... I will forever by grateful to the kind lady who donated her eggs to me. No eggs would mean no Jenson - and I definitely could not imagine life without my son! I’m writing @ourjourneytoyouchildrensbook for my son and all the other donor mum’s who need a beautiful rhyming book to read to their little ones about the kind lady who helped create them! Please come and share the journey with me on @ourjourneytoyouchildrensbook

15.01.2022 I wrote a post the other day about being grateful - that we are lucky to live in a world where egg donation is possible! Today I’m celebrating that gratefulness - that was delivered to me at 2:18am on 26th January 2018 in the way of Jenson Alan Poyser. Happy Birthday my little buddy - may you continue to warm everyone’s hearts who you have the opportunity to meet! Keep smiling my little blue eyed monkey! ... I truly hope and pray that anyone who so badly wants to be a parent - whether it’s by IVF, donor egg, donor sperm, double donor, surrogacy - that it happens for you, because it really is magical! Keep your eye on the prize at all times!

14.01.2022 Do you want to transfer 1 or 2 embryos?? I didn’t hesitate for a second and 2 came straight out of my mouth. This is always a tricky one - when you travel overseas for donor egg (like I did), you automatically think/assume the more embryos you transfer the higher chance you have of falling pregnant! I have no idea if this is true (I’m not a doctor so will leave the experts to answer this)....but definitely in the back of my mind, I was like 2 will give me a higher chance of... success! When you transfer 2 - the one thing you need to be prepared for is twins! Funnily enough, my fiancé is a twin - so I was ok with that. I know one lady who had 2 embryos transferred and ended up with triplets!! One of the embryos split - which is very rare, but it can happen! I know lots of ladies who have only had 1 embryo transferred because of health, age etc reasons and they still fell pregnant. I guess it doesn’t really matter how many you transfer - as long as whatever you decide is right for you! How many embryos did you decide to transfer?? PS - look out for my next post to find out what can also happen when you transfer 2 ?!

08.01.2022 How do you choose your egg donor? This is not an easy process for those of us that need donor eggs (and choose to go overseas) to have our family. Selecting someone whose DNA will be mixed with your loved ones sperm (or donor sperm) to create your precious baby - well that’s a whole lot of head.....ache right there!!... Do you choose blue or brown eyes? Blonde or brunette? 22 or 27 yrs of age? So many options which can be quite overwhelming! In some countries - the clinic will actually choose the donor, based on photographs that you send - otherwise, you have the option to select from a range of profiles (some with just baby/kid photos, others with adult pics). For me, my donor needed blue eyes - as my fiancé had blue eyes (as did I) and it would look weird (to me) if we had a brown eyed baby! At the end of the day - whatever you decide, there is no right or wrong answer! What’s important to you is all that matters :-) How did you end up choosing your donor?

07.01.2022 G R A T E F U L! Every day I am grateful for the generous gift I received from my beautiful egg donor! We are so lucky that egg donation is even a ‘thing’!... It doesn’t matter HOW you get your baby - it matters that you GET your baby! My motto for women who go down the egg donor path is - keep your eye on the prize at all times! Jenson also gives this motto the thumbs up!
