11.01.2022 LABOR RAMS THROUGH PLAN TO TEAR DOWN PARADISE DAM Today was the first Queensland Parliament sitting day of 2020 and I’m finding it difficult to find the right w...ords to express my utter disbelief, anger and confusion in Labor’s destruction of our region’s water security and economy. The Labor Government has just announced they will ram through legislation to allow them to immediately commence demolition of the Paradise Dam wall without obtaining any of the usual planning or environmental approvals disregarding 17 separate pieces of legislation. Labor gave no notice of this decision and has carried out no community consultation and has given no explanation for it. The Paradise Dam debacle has brought Bundaberg residents, growers, irrigators and farmers to tears but Labor just doesn’t care. The Minister claims this legislation needs to be moved urgently to ensure community safety, but what about the safety of everybody who is impacted by this situation? The chances of someone in our region taking their own life because this disaster has put their entire livelihood at risk is much more likely than the loss of life from a possible catastrophic failure of the Dam Wall in a 1 in 200-year flood event. I am appalled in the Labor Government and I will not stop fighting for answers until we know what is really going on.

09.01.2022 Hass Avocados on the line today.....

09.01.2022 A new addition to the pack line. The 2020 Shepard avocado season is in full swing.

04.01.2022 As a local horticultural business, we just wanted to put a shout out to our wonderful staff during this trying time. We thank you for your dedication to providing the nation with fresh avocados along with lemons, limes, mandarins, grapefruit and other citrus. At the present time we still have a full crew on board. Our fantastic Admin staff are, albeit spaced around the office and working from home, tirelessly keeping us all up to date with Covid-19 safe practices along with their usual tasks. Our Farm Managers and Supervisors are holding things together in the orchards. Our picking crews and other farm employees are social distancing, and our Pack House Management and staff are working with strict hygiene, and ever updating processes, to keep themselves and their family's safe. We are all in this together. THANK YOU.

02.01.2022 We give thanks to all Servicemen and Women, past and present. LEST WE FORGET
