24.01.2022 Hmm... This doesn't look good (and doesn't smell good either). We have to do some investigation on this one, as it's not yet clear if the water is coming in underneath the sill, past the glass or tracking sideways from the cavity. Water leaks are probably one of the most interesting services we offer, there's never a dull moment in this job!

20.01.2022 I did a quick calculation today... in 8 years we've put in somewhere in excess of 60,000 man hours of site labour, and in that time, we've had zero lost time injuries. Maybe all that safety stuff isn't such a waste of time then? Keep up the good work lads! - Dan.

18.01.2022 Oh dear... If this does happen, hopefully it won't be as savage as last time!

17.01.2022 Today's mission was to replace a set of large hinged doors on a community centre that were in a bad way. Not only were these doors too wide, but they wouldn't open past 100 degrees without hitting on the brickwork and tearing the hinges off, which was causing all sorts of maintenance and security headaches. After consulting with the client we designed a new doorway that not only looked the goods, but the doors can be opened right back against the wall and secured out of the way while the room is in use. Needless to say, the client is super happy with the result.

13.01.2022 Who needs a holiday when this is the view from your office? This holiday rental in Kiama had a water entry problem during recent storms, so we were called in to remove the door and carry out waterproofing work. All Good now!

12.01.2022 COVID 19 update. This is a rapidly evolving situation that we are monitoring closely. As the occurrence of the illness continues to increase, we are choosing to take a proactive approach towards social distancing.... Wherever possible, work at commercial premises will either be carried out outside peak times or where practical, outside trading hours. Work at residential apartments and dwellings will be assessed on a case by case basis and may be rescheduled at short notice. Work at sites with minimal interaction, such as main garage doors or automatic gates, or where there is minimal human interaction will not be affected at this stage. We will continue to monitor NSW Health's advice and advise of any further changes accordingly. Thankyou for your understanding.

12.01.2022 Sage advice from the Australian Window Association - You should definitely do this. Or not, as we are quite happy to come and replace your hardware when it fails... ;-)

12.01.2022 Christmas Already! Well another year has whizzed past, and it's nearly that time again. This year, our office will close at Midday on Christmas Eve 24/12/2015 and will reopen for business as usual on Monday 4 January 2016.... Our boys will be on call at all times across the break - so if there are any door/window/gate/lock emergencies, we've got it covered. Contact details are as usual. In the meantime, we still have plenty of room leading up to Christmas for general service and repairs. Our supplier's official cutoff dates for complete residential windows is this Friday 13/11/2015, for commercial doors and windows it will be 30/11/2015. Garage doors will probably be cut off in the first week into December. Orders placed before cutoff will be installed prior to 24/12/2015. If you really get stuck we can usually call in a few favours and try and make the impossible happen. Thanks for your ongoing support, we really appreciate it! Regards, Daniel, Fiona and the team.

11.01.2022 Can't get parts for your windows or sliding doors anymore? No problem, we'll just 3D print our own. Most aluminium windows and doors are designed with a 25 year lifespan. However, many that we work on are in the 30-45 age range, and are still in good solid condition, except the small parts like rollers and guides are long since out of production. Well this is no longer a problem, what we can't source from our regular suppliers we now have the ability to make ourselves. Other ...than a small setup fee, prices are roughly on par with the normal off the shelf items. So if you have a troublesome door or window, why not give us a call on 4231 4200 and see what your options are.

10.01.2022 COVID19 We are monitoring this rapidly changing situation closely. Our site service team have been asked to stop work and seek medical advice if they feel ill or show any of the signs of illness as described by NSW Health or the relevant authorities.... We are also following the recommended hygiene practices such as handwashing or use of hand sanitizer before, during and after attending client premises. If you are self isolating and have a current booking with us, please contact us asap via the usual channels and let us know. Please understand that some bookings may change at short notice. We will do our very best to keep all stakeholders informed of any changes. Otherwise, at this stage we are not anticipating any unusual delays or supply interruptions, and we look forward to working with you as this crisis passes.

09.01.2022 COVID 19 update. Sunday 22 March 2020 3.20pm. The Premier of NSW, Gladys Berejiklian, has announced this afternoon that all non essential services are to close down in the next 48 hours.... Whilst we understand that supermarkets, service stations, pharmacies and convenience stores will remain open, it is not clear at this time to what extent DWS will have our services curtailed. Whilst I'd like to think that matters that pose an immediate risk to safety or security would still be deemed as essential, at this stage it is too early to tell what we will be permitted to respond to. We are monitoring this situation closely and will provide further updates as soon as possible. - Daniel

09.01.2022 So this is actually a thing even here in Wollongong. Google is great but has it's downfalls, you should always go with a reputable local business who you know have a vested interest in the local area. Always check licences too - As a Locksmith business in NSW we need to have a Master Security Licence (409641874) and each serviceman also has their own individual photo licence. These are issued by the NSW Police Force's Security Licence Enforcement Directorate, and you don't even want to know what we have to go through to get them. http://www.nytimes.com//fake-online-locksmiths-may-be-out-

08.01.2022 For anyone who's ever pushed on a pull handle, you'll relate to this.

04.01.2022 SUMMER HOLIDAY TRADING HOURS: Our office will close at 1pm on Friday 22/12/2017 and reopen Tuesday 2/1/2018. As usual, we will be available for emergency callouts between these times; if you have an immediate safety or security issue, please contact us via the normal methods. To all our customers - whether you're regulars, randoms or tyre kickers - thanks for a great 2017 and we look forward to doing it all again in 2018!

03.01.2022 And another warning... http://www.news.com.au//n/45cb671e4d876f2b7ebfc4db3539ff32

02.01.2022 Well, this East Coast Low system is starting to ramp up now, with lots of roads flooded and trees blown over so far. Unfortunately there's very little we can do in the way of emergency response for leaks. If you feel your safety is at risk call the SES on 132 500 or emergency services on 000. Meantime, take photos of where the water is coming in as this will assist us greatly when the time comes to repair.

02.01.2022 COVID 19 update 23 March 2020, 9.30am As the information from the state and federal governments is filtering through, it appears that the first round of closures does not affect any trade services.... Therefore we are still business as usual with some added distancing and hygiene procedures in place. Our thoughts are with our friends in hospitality that are facing a grim reality today, while many will adapt to takeaway and delivery services, equally as many will not and our hearts go out to those who are directly affected. - Daniel

02.01.2022 Not long to go now, this time tomorrow our office will be closed, and we'll have a skeleton staff available for any emergencies that may arise across the break. We'll be back in full swing on the 4th of January, until then have a smashing Christmas!

01.01.2022 Strewth! 41 degrees in Albion Park and rising, talk about stinking hot! Now, we don't do Air Conditioning, but we can give you some sweet hookups on double gazing and low-E glass, to help keep the cool in and the heat out. Is it beer o'clock yet? I'm parched as!

01.01.2022 Who said level 3 abseilers don't do any work? Here's photographic evidence of our main man Jez hanging off the side of a building, sealing up some leaks around a window that were causing water damage inside this beach front penthouse unit. All in a day's work, and the view was pretty sweet too...
