23.01.2022 DRY SKIN? | Dry skin occurs when skin doesn't retain sufficient moisture for example, because of frequent bathing, use of harsh soaps, aging, or certain medical conditions. Wintertime poses a special problem because humidity is low both outdoors and indoors, and the water content of the epidermis (the outermost layer of skin) tends to reflect the level of humidity around it. Here are some ways to combat dry skin: Use a humidifier in the winter.... Limit yourself to one 5- to 10-minute bath or shower daily. If you bathe more than that, you may strip away much of the skin's oily layer and cause it to lose moisture. Use lukewarm water rather than hot water, which can wash away natural oils. Minimize your use of harsh soap. Steer clear of deodorant soaps, perfumed soaps, and alcohol products, which can strip away natural oils. Apply moisturizer immediately after bathing or after washing your hands. This helps plug the spaces between your skin cells and seal in moisture while your skin is still damp.

Sunscreen with both high factor (SPF50) UVB protection and UVA protection is always needed when outside, even when its cloudy. Although we love our freckles, be kind to your skin and know sun exposure can sometimes lead to unwanted pigmentation. Be sure to always were SPF and a little vitamin c in your daily routine goes a long way to help!

19.01.2022 Products that work to brighten skin and improve the look of discolourations include those with vitamin C, niacinamide, and azelaic acid. However the key is prevention. Always protect exposed skin from UV light with a broad-spectrum sunscreen, year-round, even in winter!
19.01.2022 Sunscreen application and reasonable skin coverage will help ward off future discolouration. A daily routine that includes applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen in SPF 50 or higher in the morning is the key. It’s all about prevention, since once the sun spots form it’s very difficult to treat (not impossible though! ) @doorno.18 we recommend the sooner you start treating the sun spots the better, book for a power peel to help exfoliate away minor discolouration and book a consultation for a treatment plan.
17.01.2022 There are a number of factors which contribute to clogged pores, including build-up of excess oil & sebum, dead cells which are produced constantly as our cells turnover. Environmental pollution, toxins being expelled by the body via your sweat and makeup & skin care products. How’s to treat this? Alpha Hydroxy Acid treatments are a great way to help clear your pores of debris in between weekly exfoliations. Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid all work to renew the surface layer of the skin, clearing out dead skin cells. Book your treatment today

06.01.2022 What does glycolic acid do for your skin? Glycolic acid is an exfoliant. It helps shed dead skin cells and reveal the newer, brighter layers underneath by acting on the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of skin). Those tough, rough layers of dead skin cells can more easily slough away with regular use of glycolic acid. It's best for normal, combination, and oily skin types.
06.01.2022 Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (an AHA) that’s a natural chemical exfoliator, which helps remove the top layers of dead skin cells and increases cell turnover. Who might benefit the best from lactic acid? Lactic acid can be great for any skin type, and because lactic acid tends to be more gentle than other chemical peels, it’s an optimal option for those with sensitive skin still using caution, of course. A true multitasking ingredient, it can also be used by people who are looking to treat hyperpigmentation and pigment conditions (like melasma), sun spots, enlarged pores, uneven complexion and texture, and signs of aging.
04.01.2022 Think of hyaluronic acid like a BIG drink of water for your skin. It is able to hold up to 1,000 times its molecular weight in water. Hyaluronic acid penetrates the skin and binds water to skin cells, infusing all layers of the skin with valuable, rejuvenating moisture.

01.01.2022 COARSE TEXTURE & ENLARGED PORES Skin cells regenerate deep within the epidermis as new cells are formed, old skin cells migrate to the surface. Unless they are sloughed away, these old skin cells will build up on the surface of the skin in uneven patches, causing the skin to look dry and dull. The build up of dead skin cells can also lead to blocked pores and excess oil, resulting in blemishes and acne. Enlarged pores can be caused by several factors and occur when oil and dirt collect in your skin, causing it to swell, making pores to appear larger than normal. Pores can also look enlarged due to the loss of elasticity in the skin as we age. Sun damage can contribute to this as it causes the skin to thicken and skin cells to collect around the edges of the pores, and stretches them.
