23.01.2022 Some awesome clients of ours had had a pond built in their garden which had already become the home of this Water Dragon. They wanted it to look like a natural environment so we planted up with native and exotic Carex, Milfoil, Nardoo, Water Poppy, Pickerel Rush, Restio, Asplenium, Dichondra, Libertia, Crinum and more. We covered the easement with Cissus antarctica. The pond is now also home to Damselflies, Dragonflies, Striped Marsh Frogs, various birds, and the subjectively delightful Bush Turkeys. (A Doozie fave!). The addition of the frog-friendly White Cloud Mountain Minnows is keeping mozzies under control. More pics to come!

21.01.2022 A fairly shady garden in Balmain. Client had a lot of existing pots and plants and wanted a cottage-garden look. We added it to it with (among others) Polygala, Rhaphiolepis, tropical Fuchsias, Dianthus, Tiarella, Carex oshimensis 'Gold', Sutera, Colocasia 'Black Magic', Plectranthus australis and a Cecile Brunner rose on the sunny part of the fence. Annuals are used for seasonal colour.

20.01.2022 A fun garden we do Greenwich. Originally featured a Murraya hedge. We removed it and retained the existing Hibiscus, Chrysanthemum, Arctotis and Rudbeckia. Addition of 2m3 Cow & Compost prior to planting. The clients are wonderful AND plant-lovers so we have left lots of spaces for them! This is it after 9-12 months.

11.01.2022 A pest we have started seeing quite recently around Sydney (and by recent, I mean the last three years or so), is this thing called the Green Strip Leaf Beetle. It is most commonly seen decimating Syzygium australe and cultivars, and while we do appreciate having plants 'trimmed' for us, the damage done by these tiny beetles takes it a bit too far. The larvae look like miniature green slugs, and the adult looks like a green ladybird. Pyrethrum will have them pushing up daisies, but if your heart isn't in it you can just deter them with a chilli/garlic spray, and send them to your neighbours' houses!

03.01.2022 A jazz-up of a tricky front entrance which is mainly white pebbles. Westerly aspect, in a rain-shadow. Our brief was to tie-in with the building's monochromatic theme so we went with Kalanchoe 'Silver Spoons', Stachys 'Moonlight Velvet', Agave gemniflora, Dichondra argentea, Senecio serpens and Echeveria. We chose three different pots because, well, we could!
