24.01.2022 Hi everyone, In relation to the recent Coronavirus situation I just wanted to let you all know that I am still out there pampering your Pooches I come right to your door so there is no need for you to be out and about in the community. 23.01.2022 The NSW Government is introducing annual permits for non-desexed cats and restricted and dangerous dogs as part of its commitment to promoting responsible pet o...wnership and improving animal welfare standards. FROM 1 JULY 2020 OWNERS OF CATS NOT DESEXED BY FOUR MONTHS OF AGE WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY AN ANNUAL $80 ANNUAL PERMIT IN ADDITION TO THEIR ONE-OFF LIFETIME PET REGISTRATION FEE. This will create a stronger incentive to desex cats, which in turn will improve their health and wellbeing, including reducing the risk of some cancers. Improving desexing rates will also ease the burden on pounds and shelters, reduce euthanasia rates, and help to address concerns about feral, stray and roaming cats and their effect on wildlife. FROM 1 JULY 2020 OWNERS OF DOGS OF A RESTRICTED BREED OR FORMALLY DECLARED TO BE DANGEROUS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY A $195 ANNUAL PERMIT IN ADDITION TO THEIR ONE-OFF LIFETIME PET REGISTRATION FEE. This will serve as a further disincentive to owning high-risk dogs and encourage owners to better manage the behaviour of their animal. From 1 July 2020, pet owners will be able to pay for annual permits using the NSW Pet Registry website or through their local council. For more information visit the Office of Local Government website - https://www.olg.nsw.gov.au//nsw-pet-regist/annual-permits/

22.01.2022 Who doesn't love a good old scruffy looking dog, particularly a large one with lots of hugs to give ?? This 5 year old handsome boy really needs a new place to ...call home where he can receive all the love he deserves. Diesel is a 35kg Mastiff X Wolfhound who is now desexed and had all of his vet work done. His name is Diesel, but he would take on any name you wanted to give him as long as it comes along with a loving home, hugs, and good times. He is a big loveable boy who just wants cuddles. He is very keen for a head scratch and to sit by your side. He walks pretty well on lead but isn’t perfectly trained to walk right by your side. He does have a cheeky tendency to gently jump up for attention, but this can be corrected with some work. Diesel seems to be ok with most dogs but we are unsure about cats. He is very excited around birds. He does seem to show some food aggression when other dogs are around, which is not unusual, so separate feeding or a solo dog life might be a good option. He would need a short walk once or twice a day but more importantly just attention. He would love to be an indoor/outdoor dog. We believe he is better indoors at night. An adult home would probably be the best option, with people home most of the time and experienced with larger dogs. He has already been flea/tick treated, vaccinated and wormed. Diesel is not in the care of NRAS, we are just helping by reaching out to our wonderful supporters to see if anyone out there is interested in adopting this dog. Please direct all enquiries direct to Keen St Vet Clinic on (02) 6621 9811 for any more information.

21.01.2022 These paralysis ticks were found on 1 dog in North Ballina and the little dog was given a poor chance of survival when we admitted her. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE AND... PLEASE protect your dog and cat by searching daily, keeping the coat short and using a prevention. Do we like seeing tick cases come in? No we don't because very often, despite the best medical intervention, animals can die. Stay safe and take care See more
