20.01.2022 Dental Visit Today the dentist from Sydney Dental paid a visit to Do Re Mi. We were so proud of all the children who had their teeth checked and cleaned. The dentist can be a scary experience for some children, and we hope by having this service in a familiar environment we can alleviate some of their fears. #dentist #childcare #community

16.01.2022 On Monday we were lucky enough to have Steph from School Performance Tours visit our centre to present her Planet Tidy Show . 14.01.2022 National Recycling Week This week is National Recycling Week and we are so excited to share our latest sustainability initiative with our families. Our new BLUE bin has arrived from Red Frog Recycling. We invite our families to drop off all their empty plastic and glass bottles. Once our bin is full the team at Red Frog will collect our bin and donate 10c back to the centre for every bottle collected!!! (Please note this bin is only for those items that are eligible for the 10c bottle return) #sustainability #recycling #returnandearn #childcare #mtvernon

14.01.2022 This week our gorgeous Joeys were super busy celebrating NAIDOC week, National Recycling Week and the Hindu Diwali Festival!! Our amazing educators Miss Kristie and Miss Courtney had so much fun educating our youngest minds on the different cultural celebrations as well as using recycled materials such as milk bottles to water our gardens. (This was a big hit amongst the Joeys ~ especially since it ended up being a water play activity ) #youngminds #celebrations #multiculture #childcare #mtvernon

12.01.2022 Book week fun! Where’s Wally???

10.01.2022 NAIDOC WEEK We loved celebrating our indigenous cultures this week. There were many different activities taking place but with a main focus on story time. We gathered in our yarning circle to tell the different indigenous stories and invited many different discussions about the the past and present indigenous people of our land. The Kangaroos used different coloured rocks to vote on which story they wanted to hear each day. Our story stones were also popular as the children used the pictures to tell their own yarns. We never get tired of hearing the littles voices say our Acknowledgment to Country each morning, and how much our children have a love of learning. #alwayswasalwayswillbe #naidoc #education #mtvernon

09.01.2022 For those children who haven’t had their eyes tested prior to school, please see the flyer below for available dates and locations

02.01.2022 WE BUILT A ZOO On Thursday some of our creative Kangaroos were given a challenge by Miss Kylie to create something out of the large wooden blocks. These talented children worked collaboratively to build a Zoo!!!They came up with the idea, sourced the zoo animals and set to work to create this masterpiece of design! The smile on their faces shows just how proud they are of themselves!! #childcare #notjustplaying #mtvernon

01.01.2022 Sensory Water Play Today the Kangaroos took part in a sensory water play experience that focused on developing numeracy and literacy skills. Each bucket was filled with water and lots of different loose part materials (glitter, feathers, pom poms, plastic lids and wooden letters) ... The Kangaroos were given a spade and were encouraged to search through the water in each bucket to see what they could find. The Kangaroos were encouraged to count how many items they could collect in their spade and also search through the buckets with the wooden letters to try and find the first letter of their name. What great fun the Kangaroos had using the balancing buckets in a new way to develop their school readiness skills. #learning #outdoors #looseparts #children #educators #schoolreadiness #sunshine #waterplay #sensory #fun #numeracy #literacy #childcare #repurpose
