24.01.2022 For sale by tender: Dorper Stud Park 150038 Bounce. An excellent growth rate but as yet inexperienced Ram. His outstanding length and good attitude make him a great choice. He has a full shedding coat and shows great potential based on the outstanding performances of his sire. Tenders are accepted from now till the 10th of October 2016. They can be placed by phone 98531116. By email [email protected] or by private message via our Dorper Stud Park Facebook page.
23.01.2022 What a lovely day to be in the office
22.01.2022 Well...our biggest lambing ever is now officially complete. Ill be honest. We both thought this lambing would be a spectacular flop. Nearly half of this group were maiden ewes and our lead up to this lambing was hectic to say the least. We had both (Mum and I) braced ourselves for difficult times leading into it and the weather had been brutal. We have had the wettest, coldest winter that Bollygum Dell has seen in decades. But testament to the Dorper breed, they took it in their stride and we need not have worried. A 161% lambing yield is not too far from our normal 164%. When we take into account that half were first timers, Id say the outcome was fantastic.
22.01.2022 We have been teaching this group of girls how to Baa in Russian lately. They will be heading of on a cruise to Russia soon. We just had to make sure they were all prettied up before they go.
21.01.2022 I let the Mommas an Bubbas into top the hay crop this morning. I didnt get too many complaints. I will when I kick them out again this afternoon though.
21.01.2022 The boys came home today from their Holiday today. A bit shaggy as they are only just starting to shed their coats. We re going through them closely tomorrow to decide who gets a group of girls and who doesnt.
20.01.2022 Apparently today was the day for these cute little things to hatch.
20.01.2022 Sorry about the quality.
20.01.2022 Show team potentials. These are the 2016 (black taggers) drop short list for Woolarama next year. Somehow, I still have to narrow them down further to two girls only. Im still working on the white tag girls. Thatll be harder still....
19.01.2022 Let me introduce you all to Demi. She is a bit of a celebrity around Dorper Stud Park. She has just delivered her 4th set of triplets in a row. Her maiden lambing was a set of twins and she is only 5 years old. If she spent the first year of her life growing, it means she has had 14 lambs in 4 years. A 350% lambing yield or 3 and a half lambs per breeding year. She does it all by herself...no supplementary feeding....no assisted birthing. Amazing girl !!
19.01.2022 Attention Buyers!! We are releasing some of our prized ewes for sale. Up to 40 of our prized ewes have been pedigree matched and mated.......THATS RIGHT.....mated. 19.01.2022 Heard a great joke the other day. Did you hear they are making another sequel to the movie "Silence of the Lambs". Theyre going to call it "Shoosh Ewes" Ha Ha Ha Maybe theyll give the leading role to a Dorper.
18.01.2022 So after two years of making him chase her......she has finally started a family. What a great mum.....
18.01.2022 Well.....lambing has officially begun. Two beautiful girls came into the world to say hello today.
17.01.2022 For sale by tender: Dorper Stud Park 150051 Tarzan. An excellent shaped inexperienced Ram. He is a very broad, stocky boy with great potential. I am sorry for overlooking his belly with the shears. I am pleased to report that he has already begun to let it go himself now. Tenders are accepted from now till the 13th of October 2016. They can be placed by phone 98531116. By email [email protected] or by private message via our Dorper Stud Park Facebook page
17.01.2022 For sale by tender: Dorper Stud Park 140025 Willard. An experienced Ram. Willard was Reserve Champion Ram at Woolarama 2015 as only a Ram Lamb. His full shedding coat is attributed to a dash of Ben Groebellaers Woelewater Studs genetics on both sides of his pedigree. Tenders are accepted from now till the 3rd of October 2016. They can be placed by phone 98531116. By email [email protected] or by private message via our Dorper Stud Park Facebook page.

12.01.2022 I say to him "Get the rabbits!" and point furiously in their direction. What does he do...tilts his head and looks at my finger thinking "Why is Dad holding his finger out like that?" Waste of breath I tell you....
10.01.2022 Some new arrivals here at Dorper Stud Park. 7 brand new baby Swamp Hens. Tiny little balls of fluff. Cute as !!
09.01.2022 Another lambing drawing to a close. The freezing cold hurt us a week ago but lambs sure are enjoying the sunshine now.

08.01.2022 Sorting through the young girls this morning short listing a show team for Woolarama next year. These girls were good.....but not good enough to make the cut.
07.01.2022 First lambing of 2016 is now over half way done. The girls seem to be crossing their legs though. Only 6 days left to go and still alot of ewes leaving it till the last minute. Up until tonight the weather has been perfect for lambing. Warm, humid and very little wind. Tonight however, we have a blustery Southerly meaning that Ill have to be extra vigilant with my checks tonight. We dont want the babies getting cold now do we? Wish me luck and Ill get some photos of our new babies up here in the coming days.
06.01.2022 Today was egg laying day for the local Freshwater Turtles. We found 5 mother turtles out and about laying eggs today. All within a few hours of each other and all within 50m of each other. Nature is awesome...
06.01.2022 For those who dont already know, we are in the process of expanding to fill Bolganup Estate just down the road here in Porongurup. Hence the large number of maiden ewes in our last lamb drop. Our next generation of farmers (my two boys Tom and Alex) came with me to see how our first group has been settling in. The views from our office are pretty special. Bolganup Estate rests on the northern slopes of the Porongurup range looking straight at the Stirling Ranges. How lucky are we ? Our only problem now is that all this rain this season means the fire hazard this summer will be significant. I hope the girls can keep the feed from getting too long and hazardous. They are going to be fat and happy in no time.
06.01.2022 Coming along nicely. Should be finished early next week. Look out Woolarama 2017....there are some rippers in this lot.
06.01.2022 Had a beautiful send off for Pa yesterday. Everything was perfect. The weather, the company and the conversation. To all those who attended and helped to create that perfection, I thankyou. To those who were able to send their love but unable to attend, I thankyou too. The outpouring of love that we have felt these past few weeks will surely guide Pa safely to where he belongs.
06.01.2022 So with our new found interest in where our food comes from and how it is treated, I felt it was important to elaborate on how and why we farm the way we do and why it makes such a significant improvement to the quality of the food on your plate. 100% Full Blood Dorper. Dont be fooled by the phrase "Pure Bred" or "Cross Bred." You should be able to taste the difference. If it tastes like normal Lamb....It is not Dorper. Natural Free Range Grazing as Nature indended. Not forc...e feeding the animals in a Feed Lot. Our impressive weight gains are even more impressive when you consider it is a Natural Paddock Driven feeding program. Full Blood Dorpers have a higher percentage of meat to bone. Its about value for money. If your money could buy more meat or more bone....what would you choose? Our Dorpers are free to explore their own instinctual behaviour. We use that instinct to work with them. We use no dogs. We rarely push the animals. Calm and encouraging calling them to us instead of the loud and forceful pushing them where you want them. It builds a trust which makes the whole process even more rewarding.
06.01.2022 Mother nature was in an odd mood over the Porongurups this afternoon. Beautiful though...
05.01.2022 Lambs from our July/August drop are coming along nicely. Weaning in just under a month. Very impressed with this group. Some absolute stunners here.
04.01.2022 Weaned our July 2016 drop of lambs today. They look pretty good for only 90 days old. We will be joining their mothers again in a week or two.
04.01.2022 Attention Buyers!! We require new homes for some of our proven Stud Sires. After doing us proud here at home, these boys are now available to do the same for our customers. 2 to 4yr old Rams are on offer but be quick as these boys have produced champion progeny and will be in high demand. Contact us on 98531116 or 0432595669.
03.01.2022 Weaned our last lamb drop last week. Tomorrow is scheduled to be a big day of vaccines and drenches for our new babies. Hoping to get some photos up here of our standout lambs in the next few days. Stay tuned.
02.01.2022 Found this big fella helping us control the field mice today. Looks like he has been quite successful.
01.01.2022 We sent our latest overseas Dorper travellers off to China last week. Wellards were kind enough to allow us to test the waters as part of their latest contract to China. If the Chinese buyers are as enthusiastic as the sellectors were about the quality of our animals, we can look forward to more opportunities with them in the future. China has now become the third overseas buyer to join our growing list of happy customers. We look forward to dealing more with China, Mongolia and Malaysia in the years to come. Im still working on ways to teach our sheep to Baaa in Chinese. A work in progress I think....
