21.01.2022 We received some tragic news over the weekend, with our friend and team mate Muhammad Alee Yaqoobi passing away following an incident at South Wall, Coffs Harbo...ur. Our thoughts go out to his family at this time. Affectionately known as Mo, he was a much loved member of our club over recent years. Mo and his family came to Australia as refugees from Afganistan, via Pakistan, just 4-5 years ago. After settling in Coffs Harbour, Mo and his brothers Nissa and Hadi immediately started playing cricket with Diggers Cricket Club. They played several seasons in 4th grade and also 2nd grade. Mo played 27 senior matches, scored 94 runs, took 33 wickets and 17 catches. His best day with the ball netted him 5/15 vs Urunga at Reg Ryan Oval on March 3, 2018. Mo was just 20 years old. His family desperately needs our help to arrange Mo's funeral. Friends have set up a GoFundMe page below to raise money. Please give if you can. 18.01.2022 Under 14's and 15's Youth Pathway Championships. After some wonderful work by Cricket NSW, the previously cancelled Under 14's and 15's Youth Championships Game...s will now be proceeding on 7, 8 & 9th of April in Coffs Harbour and Sawtell. These games will include Far North Coast, Mid North Coast, North Coast and Northern Inland over the 3 days noted. Cricket NSW Country Challenge We can now confirm that Cricket NSW have negotiated with Cricket ACT and have grounds allocated for the U14's Country Challenge on Saturday and Sunday, February 27 & 28 . The U14's Country Challenge will now provide a fantastic opportunity for the selected players. Cricket NSW staff will be communicating this updated opportunity to Parents and Players as soon as they are able. Those selected in the U14 State Challenge will be automatically selected in the U14 Country Challenge. Letters will be distributed next week.
