11.01.2022 Kia harikoa. Be joyful, be happy. Everyday we can choose to be happy. Don’t let others make you have a stink day. Us being happy can add a smile to others faces. That in turn can make our day even better. #kiaharikoa #bejoyful #behappy #joyful #happy #smile #haveahappyday #haveajoyfulday #kupu #kupuquotes #words #wordsofwisdom #maori #maoribusiness #maoriowned #brisbane #australia #wainuiomata #aotearoa #dosibytotoru @dosibytotoru

07.01.2022 Kia rangimrie. Be peaceful. Be quiet. In times of quiet. Or when you’re having that quiet time without the noise, utilise that time to meditate to get that peace you need. Even find that happy place away. Rebalance yourself and refresh so you can carry on with the rest of your day. #kiarangimrie #bepeaceful #peace #peaceful #quiet #quiettime #peaceandquiet #meditate #rebalance #refresh #enjoy #enjoytherestofyourday #kupu #words #wordsofwisdom #dosibytotoru @dosibytotoru

05.01.2022 WAITANGI DAY! Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Treaty signed between Maori & Pakeha when Aotearoa (New Zealand) was first colonised. This Treaty was about protection, working together and preservation of our indigenous culture as Mori. Things it was NOT about from my Mori perspective. NOT full governance, NOT taking all our land rights away and definitely NOT taking away what is important to us including our language, customs etc . There are 2 versions of the Treaty. One english and... one Mori version. Which clearly identify that the Treaty was misinterpreted which is why this has been a bone of contention for us for many years. Some people say get over it but it is slowly being fixed since 1840. Should not take so long to fix issues. Although, progress has been made and this treaty is unique, still a long way to go. I celebrate our Culture on this day taking back what is important to us and remembering our tipuna. Also, proud of how we have evolved regardless of how colonisation has affected us in so many ways.
