20.01.2022 Need a goal to keep you singing? Enter this online competition.

17.01.2022 Finally!! Uploaded this 9 minute vocal warm up based on functionally training for a balanced voice. So that means, having a clear chest register, head voice and a mixed voice. Sort of like a neutral default setting, to apply when the voice goes out of balance, for example if you've been singing too much of the one style like ROCK, you can lose your head voice.

17.01.2022 I've created a page for teachers and students to share regarding Zoom setting for online lessons. I've made it with screen captures so its easy to follow. Please note: This process is done during a Zoom meeting.

17.01.2022 Mommy makes me mash my M&M's on a 3 x 5 note scale with an octave created for a YouTube User Amanda H. The octave leap is challenging with the M consonants.

16.01.2022 I created a new lyrics video for Part of Your World, the current one on Youtube needed an update. Helpful for students and teachers out there.

14.01.2022 Getting the hang of online lessons with Zoom. Great platform, lessons are recorded on audio and video. Great for aural skills too!

14.01.2022 Woo Hoo for my students! HAMILTON is now streaming on Disney Plus.

12.01.2022 I found this recording of Ashlyn singing Hopeful while cleaning out my Pro Tools files. It was recorded in Aug 2016, she was about 12. Original is by Bars and Melody performed on Britain's Got Talent 2014. The lyrics are powerful. Also available on Youtube https://youtu.be/NS7h9g0l0Go

11.01.2022 Feeling overwhelmed or stressed? Sing!

10.01.2022 Time for a contagious laughing exercise!

10.01.2022 Have a listen to this amazing performance! Check out the audience they are totally captivated. Singers out there you may have experienced this as one of those goose pump performances or moments! xo

10.01.2022 Peppa singing along with a J-pop song. Secret Base (Kimi ga Kureta Mono) J-pop and K-pop are very popular with students these days.

07.01.2022 Online lessons work, you just need to make slight modifications. Here's Emily working on strengthening chest voice with Ya in a moderately loud volume and Nya & Na to help with the feeling of closed and open throat. Nya helps with mix register.

03.01.2022 Here's a new vocal competition for all ages and different styles now taking entries. Under the direction of the Jonathon Welch OAM. Side note: Jonathan was one of my examiners for my 2nd year recital at Uni. He was really nice to me. I sang a Tisket-a-Tasket (Ella Fitgerald) as part of my classical recital. He said that style suited my voice (he was right). None of the other judges liked it. Anyway I went on to sing that style of music for the next decade. https://www.playitforward.org.au/shine

03.01.2022 So proud of Luke Whillance (13) playing Charlie in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory in Concert. He had never had lessons before and had only 6 lessons leading up to his performance. I think he does a great performance considering the short time. starts 25:52s https://youtu.be/nqQRPJbEtYs?t=1552

03.01.2022 Need something new to do! Download these FREE vocal warmups for kids & adults. Do them once or twice a day and you will improve. One of my 54-year-old adult stu...dents has been doing them (without me asking her too) in the last couple of weeks and shown dramatic improvement. They are a limited range and great for kids & adults. https://www.dotssinging.com/vocal-warm-ups There are also more advanced exercises on the website, but please stay in a comfortable range. I am slowly adding, modifying and improving the exercises during this time.

02.01.2022 Here's another popular one among choirs and uni's.

02.01.2022 This is Guiseppa's performance for the Take The Mic Competition. She didn't make it to the state final, but have a look at her performance.

01.01.2022 Love this, love Dami!

01.01.2022 Singers will appreciate this! Enjoy!

01.01.2022 I've created two videos of "Everybody Wants To Be A Cat" from Aristocats that may be useful for teaching 8 to 10 year olds. They are from Hal Leonards Kids' Musical Theatre Songs - Volume 1. The lyrics have been adapted for solo performance. This one has the sheet music on screen. The accompaniment volume has been lowered. The melody is more prominent. https://youtu.be/nRHxtap6W3g... This one is just the lyrics and the melody line only https://youtu.be/Vn4QPxzL1R8
