23.01.2022 Things to do in isolation? Housework? Homework? Yardwork? Nah. Zoo cam? Yes!!

23.01.2022 Taking time to knit for me ... a wonderful velour tea cosy!

22.01.2022 Kindness...........

21.01.2022 We've got a cool day in the Hunter today with rain! Dirty rain but rain! We've got a cool day in the Hunter today with rain! Dirty rain but rain!

21.01.2022 There is a lot of bushfire smoke around town. The nearest fires are about 15 or so kilometres away. But between those and the rest of the fires in NSW - the smoke is just unbelievably heavy everywhere. Sending out hope and strength to those who are and have been directly impacted. It is also so sad for our wildlife

19.01.2022 Some of our photography is of the fungi variety ... I think they can be amazing to photograph. I haven't ever seen anything like this though!

19.01.2022 We really are a land of extremes.

19.01.2022 Hmm... so I'm not sure that 2 angora goats equals a great opportunity to get rich! I can, however, attest to just how gorgeous and soft their fleece is. Not that you could tell looking at Polly and Que... after they've had a roll in the dirt!

15.01.2022 I had a wee bit of fun at the fibre festival today in Singleton. I got some silk caps to spin, lovely soft black alpaca fleece and a little bit of already carded sheep (lazy Lisa!). There may have been some handspun skeins bought. Oh my - one was absolutely stunning, the most gorgeous art yarn and it CALLED me by name. I swear! <- I may not have told the accountant that it cost me fifty bucks ... but it was WORTH IT. Honest

14.01.2022 I love the impact that time, wear and weather have on wood.

14.01.2022 A poignant, powerful statement. Location: St John's Churchyard, Slimbridge. Artist: Jackie Lantelli?

13.01.2022 On a bit of a black and white kick with these images!

07.01.2022 Enjoying the market today

04.01.2022 I'm not sure that Polly and Que, our goats, would appreciate being put to work this way! That said, they are smaller than standard goats but the biggest problem would be the lack of focus. They'd be racing off to different trees to eat them! /end joke .... the only work we put our goats to is to grow us fleece. I would like it if they didn't spend all their time rolling said fleece in dirt and twigs but hey, you try telling a goat what to do!

03.01.2022 So I upcycled a pretty dress that I'd picked up at an op shop a while back (gorgeous material and totally *not* in my size ... so I've been using it for various upcycling projects). The shoulder straps were the perfect shape for a face mask and it is lined and double-sided, so three layers of material. The straps are the hem of the dress that I cut off. Rough and ready, hand-stitched, less than perfect, because I was too lazy to get the sewing machine out. It's just for me ...so that's totally cool. I do know that this is not the same as a medical mask but I don't want to get those when our health workers need them more. So this is about me mitigating things as best I can, with the resources I have :)

03.01.2022 I just have to share this video - how gorgeous to see littlies play in rain for the 1st time! https://www.dailymail.co.uk//Toddler-dances-puddles-rurual

02.01.2022 I can attest to 2 goats being a handful - over a 100?
