24.01.2022 'Central Hokkaido tones' Biei, Hokkaido - Japan The snowy countryside around Biei is minimalist landscape heaven! Rolling snow covered hills as far as the eye can see, only broken occasionally by a small patch of trees or a rickety old farm shed.

20.01.2022 Alpine sunset up on the Ramshead range a few weeks ago. I haven't spent anywhere near enough time up in the mountains this season, hopefully spring brings more beautiful moments like this.

20.01.2022 'Neapolitan ice cream mountains' Early morning views across the main range from our camp on Mt Northcote last september. After a massive dust storm blew across the mountains in mid September the snow was covered with quite a thick layer dirt which had unfortunately blown off drought-affected Nsw.

17.01.2022 'Camel rock' - nsw South coast Yesterday I went looking for whales. That plan was a complete fail, not a whale to be seen seen. However I did explore a part of the south coast that I've never really looked at and found some pretty sick rocks!

17.01.2022 Windmill at the far north most tip of Hokkaido. Good spot for a windmill, it was bloody windy and bloody cold! The whole area around Wakkanai and cape Soya is a wierd, beautiful, desolate, frozen landscape that gets hammered by bitterly cold winds off the sea of Okhotsk.

15.01.2022 'Hill of Buddha' Sapporo - Hokkaido, Japan I almost forgot to go see this guy while in Sapporo, glad I didn't though as this 14m tall statue of Buhdda inside a snow covered hill created by Japanese modernist architect Tadao Ando was pretty weird and epic at the same time.

10.01.2022 Subtle sunsets down by the lake. The cloud forcast looked good and although it looked very promising when I arrived, I'd hoped for a lot more colour. Better luck next time! It's still a nice place to end a day.

09.01.2022 'Views from the other side' I've been looking out towards paddy's Rush's from the top of Thredbo for most of my life, decided it was about time to go check out the view from the other side! Scored some perfect weather so set up camp on the summit and watch first light touch down accross the range.

08.01.2022 Set out to catch the full moon rising behind the carillon tonight, bit too much cloud to get the shot I was after so i decided to have a bit of fun blending a couple of my test shots instead.

07.01.2022 Early morning Kyoto. - Yasaka Hkan-ji Temple . When in Kyoto its definitely worth getting up long before sunrise. The atmosphere of these streets is so much different when you've got them all to yourself.

02.01.2022 'Sunrise on lake Biwa' Shirahige Torii - How satisfying is it when everything falls into place! After double and triple checking the forcast I'd decided it was worth making the trip from Kyoto to lake Biwa to catch sunrise at Shirahige Tori. The day started super early, Jumped on a bike and cycled through the quiet streets of Kyoto to make it to the train station before first trains departed. After an hour on the train I arived at lake Biwa and could just start to see th...e light appearing in the horizon. Realizing I still had 2.5km to go to get to the shrine and sunrise was fast approaching I had to run through quiet country streets, lanes between rice paddies and along the lake edge. Thankfully I made it in time and the sunrise was absolutely beautiful! See more

02.01.2022 : Horse head rock This was a pretty cool part of the south coast. Not quite sure why I've never checked it out until now but will definitely have to get back down and explore it a bit more soon.
