DETAILS: https://bit.ly/2C7Z7Qw Mossman Library employee ...Bill Wilkie took out the 2018 Citizen of the Year, as well as the Arts and Cultural Award, for his book The Daintree Blockade: The Battle for Australia’s Tropical Rainforests. Bill’s meticulous work over a number of years highlighted a truly unique Queensland story about the politics and personalities behind plans to build a road through Cape Tribulation in the 1980s. Nominations close at 4.30pm on Friday 23 November 2018.

07.01.2022 The latest statistics from Tourism Research Australia received this morning are showing positive growth in the Douglas Shire! Domestic overnight visitors ros...e 7.2% from Sept 17 International visitors rose 2.8% from Sept 17 International nights were up 11.9% from Sept 17 Domestic nights saw a slight drop of 1.7% due to decrease in length of stay from 5.7 to 5.2 nights.
