24.01.2022 FINALLY our synthetic green is finished!! No more reversals after this Saturday. Official signing off with Berry Bowling will happen within next couple of weeks but we can play on it now. Very exciting. As a result, we have some equipment items we no longer need.

23.01.2022 Saturday 19th saw Dover RSL Bowls Club host the Maurice Tate Geeveston Dover Challenge after a 3 year hiatus. It was an absolutely perfect day weather wise and played in the spirit which Maurice originally intended ... comradeship and sportsmanship between 2 local clubs. Dover prevailed by 35 points and accepted the Cup for the 4th year. Congratulations go to Sheryl Phillips, Kath Townsend, Nadine Seaborne and Colleen Griffiths for being the rink which won by the largest margin on the day .. 12 shots over their opponents. A great day. Hopefully will continue again annually!! Thanks to Rick Ormerod and his counterparts at Geeveston for reviving this.

17.01.2022 Again FYI people.

16.01.2022 We have lift-off!! The green will be available for members from Friday of this week ie the 12th June. To ensure the safety of yourself and others please abide by the following regulations. Remember that you don't know if you or others have been in contact with an asymptomatic carrier. We are in a good place right now ... let's keep it that way. 1) Enter by the bottom gate and exit by the new door at the top of the green. (Thanks to RSL) 2) Use the hand sanitiser in the chang...eroom before and after play. 3) Use the disinfectant spray/wipes on mats and jacks before and after play. BT recommends that all players use separate mats and jacks OR same player places mats and rolls jacks. 4) You must sign in on the sheets provided in changeroom and disinfect pen before and after use. 5) Rinks have been set up in line with Bowls Tasmania guidelines but please adhere to the 1.5m social distancing. 6) Only 4 people max on each rink .. 2 at each end. 7) No more than 20 people at the venue at any given time, including staff/volunteers. No spectators. If you arrive and that limit has been reached, go away and come back at another time. Obviously, for us, at present, use of the green will only be for those wanting to have a roll. We will look at more formal events later. Kim

13.01.2022 Another enjoyable today for our Saturday comp. The weather looked threatening but rain held off until just after we finished. Congratulations to our winners today .. Rick Ormerod, John Tapp and Jill Brown by a 1 shot margin. See you next week.

13.01.2022 Great effort today by Div 1 girls v Kingborough at their home game on grass to come away with a 10/:2 win by 25 points with Dawn Garland winning by 33 shots. Great effort also by Div 4 to win by 1 shot on the last end. Lady diggers going beautifully. Keep it up girls.

13.01.2022 Amazing wreath for us by Sue Briggs for tomorrow. Thanks so much Sue.

12.01.2022 We know that some members are keen to return to bowling BUT as of now this is not on the table for us. We need to put in place the protocols and procedures necessary for a return to play, the equipment required and also be in line with the RSL, particularly insurance coverage. We are working on this and will keep you posted. Hopefully a short term resolution. Please be patient. And remember we need to put all measures in place to protect our members.

12.01.2022 And so it begins!!!

11.01.2022 Yes!! We now have some grass!!!

10.01.2022 The raffle for the Weber Baby Q was drawn tonight. Val Hursey won the weber. Geoff Ferguson from Little Roaring Beach won the $50 gift voucher. Congrats to both and thanks to all who bought tickets. Our next major raffle will be the Xmas one. Watch this space.

06.01.2022 Hi members. I have discovered today that there is practice scheduled tomorrow for premier div at 1pm. Any players from other divs could take advantage of this as well. We have been informed today that the synthetic green may well be installed this coming week. Fingers crossed for good weather. So tomorrow may be last opportunity for practice at home for a week at least. I will be there to take your money for subs and/or uniform queries too. X Kim

06.01.2022 Phase 1 of our Synthetic Green completed. Phase 2, which will put the "lid" on, to quote one of more technically minded members, will commence on Monday.

04.01.2022 Great effort today by both Premier at home and Div 7 with an unexpected road trip to Cremorne to both come up with the win. Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to all bowlers and thanks again for your patience while our new green was being installed.

03.01.2022 Another enjoyable Sat comp yesterday. 12 players participated in 2 bowl triples. Winners were Deb Kath and Dawn who defeated Rick Sheryl and Jill by 4 shots. The other rink was much closer. Sue Colleen and Wayne defeated Dick Bill Eather (new member ) and Allan (who will be when he retires) by 1 shot. We also welcomed Vallan and Carlene Reid from West Lonnie Bowls Club who were here to check out our synthetic green. See you next week.

01.01.2022 Hi guys. This is probably self-evident but just advising you that all club championships are on hold until further notice. Also our AGM is postponed indefinitely unless we can come up with a clever alternative. Stay strong and safe. Xx
