25.01.2022 . FEEL GOOD FRIDAY . For those of you that don’t know RUSTY is the big metal dog that greets you at the entrance of the Dowerin township. .... He was built in 2004 as a project by the students of Dowerin DHS to encourage people to stop in the town. . The students helped with the initial design, sourced funding for building materials and a designer to build him. . The students were inspired by the history of Tin Dog Creek which gets its name from the early settlement of the area and the commencement of mining in the Yilgarn Goldfields. . Fast forward 16 YEARS and...CUE...ROSEY... built out of similar materials they are a match made in metal heaven . 04.01.2022 LET ME TELL YOU A STORY... about hydraulic fittings... When we first bought the business (almost 10 years ago now )... I was working in the office and one of the first phone calls I ever received was from a farmer wanting some parts/fittings... specifically a female end to match the male end he had, I was blissfully unaware that this was in fact the terminology that was used for hydraulic fittings (I have a Nursing background)...SOOOOOO I started laughing just thinking ...he was having a lend...however when there was silence on the other end I pulled myself together... BUT then he wanted a greased nipple as well... that was it, I was in complete hysterics... and Jason had to finish the call!..
