13.01.2022 Hi All, On behalf of the Margaret River Regional Environment Centre (MRREC), thanks to those who have contributed to The Shed’s Chuffed campaign so far. This fundraising drive is less about the amount of money raised and more about showing the funders that there’s support for the project in the community. MRREC anticipates the project will largely be funded by Lotterywest and other grants. To increase the chances of the grant applications’ success we need a strong show of su...pport from the community. If you're unfamiliar with MRREC, they've been around for 20 years and have been instrumental advocates for the local environment which is one of only 36 Biodiversity Hotspots globally. If you’re unfamiliar with the historic goods shed, it was built in 1926 to stop cargo being pinched off the railway platform. It’s made of beautiful old Jarrah and occupies a high profile site in Margaret River but through neglect has become a bit of an eyesore and a liability for the Shire. It certainly has great potential though! So please get behind this campaign and make a donation. Again it's not about the money so even if you donate $1, the show of support is most helpful.
