19.01.2022 75 Years ago today my Uncle Bruce gave his life at the tender age of 21 to save this (now town) by remaining at the controls of his Stirling Bomber to steer it... away from the Village centre. Tomorrow I am attending the Commorative Service that is held each year. The emotions are building already, this is going to be a big weekend! See more

17.01.2022 Some good and not so good news! 2021 is the 50th anniversary of The TIn Shed Rattlers band and The Downside Bush Dance! From humble beginnings in 1971, the band... (Despite Covid) is still together and looking forward to resuming the dance and bouncing some lively tunes around soon. The bad news is, it won't happen just yet. but we are hopeful for the future- We will keep you posted as to when! We have some exciting plans for the year- stay tuned! See more

16.01.2022 Hi Tin Shed Rattlers, Due to the current health situation the rattlers are unable to play at the Downside Hall on the 4th of April. We appologise for this but look forward to seeing everyone at the next gathering in May.

16.01.2022 RURAL THEFT ALERT - please be on the lookout for 3 cars working in convoy in the areas (a red, black and white one) they have drones and are flying them into f...arms to scope them out. If you see them please get the number plates and alert police ASAP. Please share this with as many locals as possible so we can get these people!

14.01.2022 Have just been to the hall for a final clean up after our great function last night. Thank you everyone who came for the support and friendship. If you left anything at the hall it is now with Debbie. Call her and she will get it to you asap. Thanks to all who looked for and found her earring, much appreciated

14.01.2022 Our beloved Downside Hall is our home and most favourite place to play, generations of folk from around the Riverina have shared the joy of this unique facility.... The 7th July #Downside #bushdance we will be donating all door takings to assist with the upkeep of the hall. The fires will be blazing, the band will be pumping out some good old tunes and with you and your mates friends & family, its going to be a grand night, bring some marshmallows, crumpets or raisin toast, some say that a twist of dough wrapped round a stick with some cockies joy is nice too. Lets keep the dream alive for generations to come, See ya there! 8pm start See more

So on Sat July 6th, at the July Downside Bushdance, all door takings will be donated to The Downside Hall Trust who keep our beloved Hall one of the best this side of the black stump. For those inclined to make an extra donation, we will ensure that is passed on also. so come one, come all to this next bush dance, and know you are helping ensure the future of one of Wagga's Icons and the preservation of a great tradition.
