25.01.2022 Great advice, whether you're selling or wanting to refresh your home.
25.01.2022 Wouldn't you rather be doing this than mowing lawns this weekend? When you own too much, it starts to own you.
21.01.2022 Downsizing. Where do I start? What furniture will fit into our new property? Who buys second hand furniture? How do I thin out my wardrobes?... You know what you want your new lifestyle to look like but getting from where you are now to that can be challenging. We have the expertise and experience to help you. See more
21.01.2022 At LaForma selecting new pieces with a client who is downsizing from a large family home to a beautiful cottage. A new start is exciting, especially when you have scale and style appropriate furniture.
20.01.2022 ONE IN - ONE OUT So the flurry of Christmas, Summer holidays and store sales has come and gone and as a result, we often have an influx of new things. Rather than cramming them into the wardrobe, pantry or garage along with everything else, give this a try. Take out one item for every new item you bring in to your home. Those beautiful new fluffy towels that were a steal at the sales should be used - now. Take out your scratchy old ones and donate them to an animal shelter.... Value your new things by making room for them - and using them - not collecting them. See more
20.01.2022 Helping a client get organised. Rules; if the elastic is gone - LOSE IT if your grandma would wear it - LOSE IT if you can't remember what colour it was originally - LOSE IT... It won't 'spark joy' but seeing a neat and tidy drawer every morning will put a smile on your face - and save you time. I'm calling it the KyHari method :) See more
20.01.2022 Why bother allocating time to go through your 'stuff' and decide what you really love and use? Because you want to create a space you can enjoy and relax in. That time is an investment in your lifestyle.
16.01.2022 You don't need more boxes, you need less stuff.
16.01.2022 Size matters.... It might work perfectly well in your current house, or look amazing in the store, BUT - will it fit in your new lounge, or even fit in the lift or through the door to your new place? It's a mistake commonly made. Consider the size, style and logistics of your new property when choosing furniture. And remember, in a large retail space, furniture always looks smaller.
16.01.2022 Have less, see more. Clutter in the kitchen not only distracts the eye, it also takes up valuable real estate - bench tops.
15.01.2022 Yes, we are still open for business, helping our wonderful clients create the life they love.
12.01.2022 When floor space is at a premium, you need to think laterally. In this case, creating a wall mounted Christmas tree. And no, this alternative doesn't have to consist of a few bleached twigs - very modern but not for everyone. Check out this clever DIY project. https://www.instructables.com//Wall-Mounted-Christmas-Tree/
12.01.2022 Out of the wardrobe, into the box, storage unit or vacuum seal bag. Moving into a property with less wardrobe space can be confronting. When editing your clothes shoes and bags, if you're not sure (or are over making decisions) put items you don't think you want anymore into a vacuum seal bag for 6 - 12 months. If you don't miss those items then you can be confident it's time to sell, donate or throw them out.
11.01.2022 Pruning can be painful but it inevitably spurs growth.
11.01.2022 What to pack? What to sell? What to donate? What to throw away? There are so many decisions to make when you move.... We can help you make those decisions. See more
10.01.2022 When a room is set up the same way for a long time it can be difficult to see other ways to use it. Here, we helped a family let go of things they weren’t using and created a dining room adjacent to the kitchen. With such a bright outlook, it will also make a great work/study from home space.
10.01.2022 If the thought of cleaning out your kitchen cupboards, thinning out your wardrobe or finally sorting through your photos is overwhelming, try this. The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method. The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, usually 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. So set the timer and crank up the music, it's amazing how productive a 25 minute focused activity can be.
09.01.2022 Decluttering doesn't mean depersonalising.
09.01.2022 We’ve been helping clients utilize the extra time they have at the moment by teaching them how to digitize their photos. Why should you bother? - photos won’t deteriorate, in fact, you can enhance them - you’ll be able to share them with others at the click of a button - it frees up valuable storage space ... AND it’s a great excuse to relive memories. See more
09.01.2022 Stairway to (shoe) heaven. There are many clever ways to store your things.
07.01.2022 Having less ‘stuff’ means it is easier to find what you do have. It makes tidying up quicker, cleaning easier and lets you focus on what you do have - especially time. Exploration anyone?
07.01.2022 Organising your photos. Photo albums take up a lot of space and honestly, how often do you look through them? There are ways to organise and store your photos so they can be preserved, enjoyed and not take up the entire cupboard in your spare room.
07.01.2022 Round glass topped dining tables work well in smaller spaces. The glass disappears and the shape is perfect to walk around the space without bumping into edges.
06.01.2022 Smaller spaces don’t have to feel less festive. Here are some lovely examples of some clever Christmas trees. Images from Pinterest.

05.01.2022 Decisions decisions...... Sometimes it just takes guidance by someone with a trained eye and practical experience to help you bring it all together and create a look you'll love.
03.01.2022 When purchasing furniture, accessories and artwork online; - check the terms and conditions regarding returns and exchanges - measure your space and don’t forget to measure access points (doorways, lifts etc) - read independent reviews of the items you’re interested in.
02.01.2022 The best things in life aren't things.
02.01.2022 Bigger isn't always better. It's a mistake commonly made. You see a sofa in the showroom you LOVE. Love the colour, the style, it's so comfortable AND it's on sale. Never buy a sofa without considering the dimensions of your room. And remember, in a large retail space, furniture always looks smaller.
