25.01.2022 So today saw the first of our Drive-In Flu Clinics rolled out at our Ochre Medical Centre Wyalla and we are very pleased to say it was a great success. In our attempt to help stop the spread and keep our patients safe, we will be offering multiple Drive-In Flu Clinics over the coming weeks across all three practices - Oakey, Wyalla and Kingsthorpe. For those patients who have expressed an interest, we will be in touch very soon to book you a spot. As soon as we receive more vaccine stocks, we will be promoting dates and times.

13.01.2022 We are delighted to announce that Downs Rural Medical Centres are now Ochre Medical Centres. There are no changes to our doctors, staff, operating hours, phone numbers, booking systems or billing policy. We continue to focus on high quality care and improving the health of the local community - simply with a new name and as part of a larger group with the same goals.... We look forward to continuing to care for the communities of Toowoomba, Oakey, Kingsthorpe and the surrounding areas. https://www.ochrehealth.com.au//downs-rural-medical-merge/

11.01.2022 So today saw the first of our ‘Drive-In Flu Clinics’ rolled out at our Ochre Medical Centre Wyalla and we are very pleased to say it was a great success. In our attempt to help stop the spread and keep our patients safe, we will be offering multiple Drive-In Flu Clinics over the coming weeks across all three practices - Oakey, Wyalla and Kingsthorpe. 11.01.2022 As the number of cases increase across the Darling Downs, we urge all of our patients to stay safe and at home and take advantage of the bulk billed Telehealth services which are now available to all current Medicare holders. This includes all of those who visit us on a regular basis for Chronic Disease management and Care Planning. ONLINE BOOKINGS: as we are experiencing a higher than normal volume of telephone calls, we urge you to book your next Telehealth appointment vi...a our online booking system HOTDOC. Your Doctor will then assess whether all your health care concerns and needs can be managed over the phone (including scripts) or whether a face to face consultation is required. SCRIPTS: please ensure you are planning ahead for script requests. The timeframe for submission and processing of scripts can take up to 24 hours to be filled by our extremely busy pharmacies due to the increased volume of script requests and technology congestion. INFLUENZA VACCINATION CLINICS: please note that patient safety and managing the risk of further spread of COVID-19 is our priority as we plan our annual Influenza Vaccination program. Our Influenza Vaccine stock has only just started to arrive, so over the coming weeks we will be offering multiple Drive In Flu Clinics. We will promote these on our Facebook page and via HOTDOC once we have more details. Please help us to reduce telephone congestion by not calling the practice to enquire, but rather wait for the promotion of the clinics as they are rolled out. The Drive In clinics will be available at all three practices. Please ensure when attending these clinics you wear suitable attire to enable easy access for administration of the vaccine and that you park in the designated signed area and remain in your vehicle to a member of our team checks you in. KINGSTHORPE PRACTICE: will be operating as a Telehealth consulting hub only for the coming weeks. Face to face consultations will be limited and only conducted as required. The majority of face to face consultations, if deemed appropriate and required by your GP will be conducted at the Oakey or Wyalla Plaza (Toowoomba) practices. Please ensure when attending appointments at the clinics you hand sanitise upon arrival and departure and that you remain at least 1.5 mtrs distance from other patients and our staff. If you are suffering cold or flu like symptoms at the time of your scheduled face to face consultation - please remain in your vehicle and call the practice to notify our staff. Please DO NOT enter the practice and put other patients and our staff at risk. We thank you for patience and support during this very difficult time as we work to provide you with safe and timely health care.
